Ignite NextGen launches ‘From Scroll to Soul’ to equip Gen Z to share faith online
New initiative from IgniteAmerica encourages young Christians to use social media as today’s mission field
PHOENIX — According to Lifeway Research, 27% of churchgoers say they have not shared their faith story with anyone during the past six months, as many Christians may not be building relationships that create opportunities for evangelism. At the same time, Springtide Research Institute reported that 94% of Gen Z use at least one social media platform daily in 2025, with many young people viewing meaningful online interactions as spiritually significant and relationally authentic.
In an effort to address a growing challenge among believers, especially younger Christians, who want to speak openly about their faith but fear appearing awkward, judgmental or insincere online,IgniteAmerica’s online resource, Ignite NextGen, is designed to help Gen Z Christians confidently share their faith through social media.
Ignite NextGen’s newly launched guide, “From Scroll to Soul,” seeks to equip young people with practical tools to communicate authentically through platforms already shaping daily conversations and culture.
According to IgniteAmerica Founder and President Barry Meguiar, social media has become one of the most influential mission fields of this generation.
“Young people are already spending hours every day online, building relationships and influencing conversations,” Meguiar said. “Ignite NextGen is helping them recognize they can use those same platforms to share hope, truth and the message of Jesus in ways that are authentic and personal.”
The free “From Scroll to Soul” guide was created to help Gen Z believers move beyond hesitation and become intentional faith creators online. The guide emphasizes practical, relational communication instead of scripted or performative messaging.
Inside the guide are platform-specific tips for TikTok, Instagram, Threads and other social media channels, along with a seven-day Faith Creator Challenge, spiritual boundaries for maintaining emotional and spiritual health, and a “What’s Your Faith Sharing Voice” quiz.
“This isn’t a sermon. It’s a playbook,” the guide states. “God will use your feed to reach hearts.”
“From Scroll to Soul” also encourages young Christians to understand that there is no single formula for discussing faith online. The guide tells users that God has already uniquely wired their voices and personalities for influence.
“Many young Christians want to talk about their faith, but they feel pressure to sound perfect or polished before they write and post,” Meguiar said. “‘From Scroll to Soul’ gives them practical encouragement to start where they are, engage online naturally and trust God to work through ordinary conversations.”
The initiative comes as churches and ministries continue searching for effective ways to engage younger generations who increasingly communicate, build relationships and explore spiritual questions through digital platforms. IgniteAmerica leaders believe those online spaces represent significant opportunities for evangelism and discipleship.
The “From Scroll to Soul” guide is available free through Ignite NextGen. Users can download the resource and learn more about the initiative at https://igniteamerica.com/nextgen/.
