‘A Very Good Thanksgiving Indeed’
Financial Expert Dan Celia Says Last Night’s Senate Passage of Budget Lays the Groundwork for Real Tax Reform That Will Impact Millions
PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—Last night, the U.S. Senate passed a $4 trillion budget plan, laying the framework for the tax cut package promised by President Donald Trump.
For many months, financial expert and nationally syndicated host Dan Celia has communicated the importance of tax reform and the impact it will have on millions of Americans and small business owners. Today, Celia said the Senate vote was “great news.”
“Finally, the Senate gets something accomplished!” Celia said. “It is wonderful to now have a real budget as opposed to a continued resolution. That, in and of itself, is a huge accomplishment that will flood the markets and the economy with hope. The strong possibility of seeing real tax reform come as a result of this vote is very good news. If this bill had not passed, tax reform might have been all but dead, as 60 votes would have been necessary without a budget. Let’s continue to hope that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) can get the votes necessary for tax reform. If so, it will be a very good Thanksgiving indeed.”
Last night’s approval of the non-binding plan, reported Fox News, allowed the Senate to use the special process of budget reconciliation that forestalled a Democratic filibuster.
After the vote, McConnell said the Senate “completed the first step towards replacing our broken tax code by passing a comprehensive, fiscally responsible budget that will help put the federal government on a path to balance. We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to replace a failing tax code that holds Americans back with one that works for them.”
