Activism in America: A Necessity
Best-Selling Author Brigitte Gabriel Gives Tips for Patriots in 2019 to Protect and Preserve Judeo-Christian Values from Extinction
WASHINGTON, D.C.—A new year is the perfect time to recommit to protecting America, says New York Times best-selling author and terrorism expert Brigitte Gabriel. And in her new book, “RISE: In Defense of Judeo-Christian Values and Freedom,” Gabriel lays out the steps to do so.
“Our nation is at a crossroads, the consequences of which are irreversible,” Gabriel wrote in “RISE.” “We will either be destroyed and reshaped by leftist and Islamist forces, or our national identity will be preserved and restored to that which our founding fathers intended. Today, we are the deciding factor. We decide what direction our country goes. We can either honor and preserve our Judeo-Christian heritage and the freedoms it has bestowed upon us, or we can sit idly by as our nation becomes the leftist utopia that politicians like Barack Obama, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren have always dreamt about. I firmly believe that each one of us has a calling, a destiny, and a purpose in this life. We all play a role in shaping history, whether we’re aware of it or not.”
Gabriel says she was “bitten by the activism bug” after 9/11, which changed the way Americans think, act, travel, vote and view the rest of the world.
“For me, 9/11 brought back memories I wish I never remembered,” Gabriel said. “As I watched on television as parents, spouses, and children yelled for their loved ones amongst the rubble, I could hear my parents’ voice screaming my name, as I laid trapped and wounded under my bedroom wall, after Islamic terrorists blew up my home. I could still smell the smoke from the explosion that nearly killed me as I watched it engulf half of Manhattan. It sent chills down my spine as my worst nightmares were resurrected.”
Her two young daughters came home from school that day and found their mother in front of my TV, crying. Her youngest daughter asked, “Mommy, why did they do this to us?” Gabriel answered her exactly the way her father answered her from a hospital bed in Lebanon 25 years earlier. “They hate us because we are Christians and they consider us infidels,” Gabriel had said.
“That day was a defining moment in my life,” she added. “I vowed right then and there that I would do everything I could to make sure that my daughters would never ever have to look into their children’s eyes and tell them what my daddy and I had to say. That day, I was reborn as an activist.
“We cannot continue to sit idly by as our community, country, and civilization continues to be attacked from both abroad and within, without any pushback,” Gabriel continued. “It’s time to take the fight to our enemies, both abroad and right here at home, and toss off the politically correct chains that have been crippling us for decades. It’s time to secure our borders once and for all and restore rule of law in this country. It’s time to teach our young people how to love this country again and be proud of their national identity. It’s time to show the anti-free speech bullies that we will not be silenced. It’s time to show the media that we will not buy any more of their lies. It’s time to show our elected officials that we will vote them out if they do not represent and protect this nation. It’s time to restore the tight-knit, god-loving, America family that saved the world from tyranny and pioneered the cause of liberty for the rest of the world to parallel. It’s time to rise.”
“RISE” contains Gabriel’s most hard-hitting, explosive message yet, by equipping Americans to fight the efforts of the nation’s enemies to undermine the U.S. culture at every level. It’s not only a warning but also a rallying cry to unite Americans of all backgrounds in a fight for the survival of the nation, the protection of the Judeo-Christian values upon which it was built, and the preservation of the freedoms on which future generations depend.
Gabriel started ACT for America—now approaching 1 million members—in an effort to protect the citizens of the United States from the horrors she experienced as a girl in her native Lebanon. She is also the author of two New York Times best-sellers: “Because They Hate: A Survivor of Islamic Terror Warns America” (2006) and “They Must Be Stopped: Why We Must Defeat Radical Islam and How We Can Do It” (2010). “RISE” is published by FrontLine, an imprint of Charisma House, which has published 14 New York Times best-sellers.
