AFA Agrees with President Trump: Churches Are Essential to the Well-Being of America
May 26, 2020
TUPELO, Miss.— Pres. Trump deemed churches and other houses of worship “essential” and called on governors across the country to allow them to reopen over Memorial Day weekend, in spite of opinions that this will contribute to spreading the coronavirus. The President said if governors don’t abide by this request, he will override them.
“President Trump is absolutely correct that churches are essential to the well-being of our nation. Our Founding Fathers understood that our constitutional form of government required a citizenry whose morality was formed by the Judeo-Christian tradition. We’re grateful to the president for recognizing this fact. It’s true –– elections have consequences,” said AFA President Tim Wildmon.
For more than 40 years, AFA has operated within the mission to inform, equip, and activate individuals to strengthen the moral foundations of American culture and give aid to the church here and abroad in its task of fulfilling the Great Commission. Visit AFA Action Alerts here.
