AFA Critiques Recent British Medical Journal’s LGBTQ+ Pandering At the Expense of Women

AFA Urges Christians to ‘Be Compassionate and Loving’ But to ‘Never Abandon the Truth In Order to Be Popular’

TUPELO, Miss. — A recent report by the Christian Post highlights the ongoing controversy surrounding British medical journal, “The Lancet,” whose September 25 journal cover labeled women as “bodies with vaginas.” People around the world are expressing their outrage, with one critic commenting, “This framing makes it sound like a coincidence that ‘bodies with vaginas’ have been neglected by medicine, as if it were not the product of a discrimination and oppression specific to the female sex… Medical misogyny exists—and refusing to acknowledge women perpetuates it.”

Richard Horton, editor-in-chief at The Lancet, officially apologized, saying that the journal “conveyed the impression that we have dehumanised and marginalised women” and that they “apologise to our readers who were offended by the cover quote and the use of those same words in the review.” Many critics are unsatisfied with this response, arguing that this choice of words erases women and bows to transgender ideology.

American Family Association (AFA, Executive Vice President Ed Vitagliano responded to this issue, stating, “This is one of the most absurd examples of the lengths the ‘woke’ crowd will go to in order to impress one another and stay out of the crosshairs of the transgender lobby. But for people in the medical community to do this is a travesty. We all know that medical professionals should know better; the sad part is that they do, but too often set the truth aside for the sake of political correctness.”

Vitagliano continued, “Christians must remain courageous about telling the truth concerning sex and gender. We can be compassionate and loving toward those who are struggling with these issues, but we can never abandon the truth in order to be popular.”
