This month, the American Family Association (AFA, www.afa.net) is marking 40 years of working diligently toward culture change in America.

“My father, Don Wildmon, started the American Family Association in 1977 to be a significant presence on the frontlines of America’s culture war,” said AFA President Tim Wildmon. “Four decades ago, he had no idea how far God would lead this ministry, but everyone could clearly see that my father was called toward restoring Christian values in our culture. Today, we are blessed that so many have been impacted by his vision and our ongoing work.”

In fact, a new national survey among Christian conservatives conducted by the American Culture & Faith Institute found that several non-profit organizations are viewed as real changemakers in the American culture. AFA was No. 4 on the list.

Thus far this year, AFA has impacted the culture with its highly successful #BoycottTarget initiative, which has garnered more than 1.5 million signatures from those in opposition to the retailer’s dangerous and misguided restroom and fitting room policy.

Likewise, AFA’s Action Alerts have brought many pressing issues to Americans’ attention, including Christian business owners who fought back against a progressive agenda, the defunding of Planned Parenthood, the appointment of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, Texas protecting children’s privacy, stopping physician-assisted suicide in Washington, D.C., plus many more. These alerts are distributed to more than a million AFA friends and supporters, who take action in tangible ways.
