American Family Association: Don’t Turn Pandemic Into a Spending Frenzy
AFA President Tim Wildmon: ‘Restrain This Lunacy’
May 15, 2020
TUPELO, Miss.—The U.S. House of Representatives plans to press ahead with a vote today on another virus rescue bill that would provide almost $1 trillion to state and local governments, renew $1,200 cash payments for individual Americans and extend a $600 weekly supplemental federal unemployment benefit. The bill’s grand total of $3 trillion-plus has caused GOP skepticism.
The American Family Association (AFA, www.afa.net) says the country’s current difficulties shouldn’t equate to free-for-all spending.
“We all understand that these are unique times and that the American people have suffered through tough economic circumstances during the pandemic,” said AFA President Tim Wildmon. “However, the push from the Democrats to turn this pandemic into a spending frenzy involving trillions of dollars for a socialist wish-list is unconscionable. AFA calls on any and all fiscal conservatives in Washington to restrain this lunacy.”
