AFA Urges Church to Find More Ways to Present the Gospel asSurvey Reveals Spiritual Hunger in Younger Generations

The spiritual hunger of younger generations was confirmed in a poll of New Year’s resolutions in which one of the top three responses was “a relationship with God.” Conducted in the fall of 2021, the survey showed the other top concerns were health and finances. Ages 18-49 were more likely to make faith the focus of their resolutions than those 50 and older.
Responding to the survey results, the American Family Association (AFA, http://www.afa.net) voiced optimism and a call for Christians to renew their commitment to reaching those who do not know Christ, for the sake of their eternal souls and the future of the country.
“This is very encouraging news and should spur the Christian community in America to greater evangelism,” said Ed Vitagliano, executive vice president of the American Family Association.
“Far too often, young people who fall in the categories of Millennials and Generation Z are either overlooked or openly criticized. Yet this survey reveals a spiritual hunger there, and the church should find ways to present the gospel to young people who are just as precious to God as preceding generations. These cohorts will one day be firmly in control of our nation and lead America into the future. Christians would be wise to ensure that as many of them as possible know Jesus Christ and see the world from a Christian perspective.”
