Best-Selling Author Stephen E. Strang: America Is at War with Itself
‘Trump Aftershock’ Author and Christian Publisher Says the Nation Is Not Wrestling Against Flesh and Blood, but Principalities and Powers
ORLANDO, Fla.—Many Americans may have thought the biggest political war in modern history was Donald Trump vs. Hillary Clinton in 2016. But the truth is that America is actually at war with itself—in more ways that just politics.
In his new book, “Trump Aftershock,” best-selling author Stephen E. Strang talks about the “spiritual struggle for the soul of America,” as the battle between good and evil escalates almost daily.
“Christians must win the battle for the soul of our country,” Strang said in his podcast, the “Strang Report.” “It’s no surprise that we’ve been having cultural wars. There’s been a tug of war between good and evil for all of human history, but it seems to have escalated in recent years. There is so much in our country that is anti-Christian now. But it isn’t just a political battle between left and right. I talk about this in ‘Trump Aftershock’ in a chapter called ‘America at War with Itself.’ When we see all the headlines surrounding violence, unrest and discord, we know that something is seriously wrong.
“But the point is we’re not wrestling against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers,” he continued. “The Bible says that, but we often lose sight of it because in the news there are many different voices fighting to be heard, but when do we ever hear that being said? Never. But this is true, whether the secular world or nominal Christians acknowledge it or not.”
So, Strang asks, what does it mean for Christians? It means we must take our spiritual responsibility seriously.
“We have been given power,” he said. “It’s not a power within ourselves, but it’s the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s left up to those who have been empowered by the Word of God to stand in the gap for this nation. And one of the most important ways we can accomplish this is to vote on Nov. 6.”
Out on Election Day, “Trump Aftershock” explores the “president’s seismic impact on culture and faith in America” and will uncover unreported facts while objectively helping readers understand what the nation’s most unlikely and unconventional president has accomplished, including a featured section on these advancements called “500 Days of American Greatness.”
Strang has recorded a ready-to-air Q&A interview with insights such as the above.
