Fellowship of Christian Athletes offers key global event as it unites faith and sports to impact the world for Jesus Christ

October 3, 2022

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Fields of Faith, Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ (FCA, annual peer-to-peer event, is only one week away, and tens of thousands of coaches and athletes are preparing to resume their gatherings at athletic fields across the country and around the world. Fields of Faith takes place this year on October 12, 2022. During a time of continued unrest in our culture, FCA’s student-driven, student-led outdoor events full of prayer, worship, and commitment to Bible reading are crucial.

Fields of Faith events are fully student-led. Inspired by their peers, young athletes together read God’s Word, pray, and share personal testimonies — deeply enriching their faith in the process. Congregating on their home athletic fields, thousands each year have experienced the spectacular impact of the Gospel.

FCA President and CEO Shane Williamson noted, “Fields of Faith helps entire communities experience God’s saving grace and gain the knowledge that lives can be transformed through Jesus, while encouraging them to get into the habit of reading God’s Word. It’s a powerful event that God is using to reach local campuses and bring the next generation to Himself.”

Last year, FCA saw over 11,000 coaches and athletes reached through Fields of Faith in 2021 — and they’re ready for even more this year. FCA’s Fields of Faith understands that an athletic field offers a neutral rallying point for a community of faith believers. Here, on their own home turf and standing side by side, student athletes invite, pray for, share with, and challenge their peers to read the Bible and follow Jesus Christ.

God is clearly raising up a young generation to see the world transformed by His Son, Jesus Christ. Fields of Faith events give hope in a world in which students face many challenges, such as loneliness, depression, suicide, drugs, alcohol, and more.

Past attendees at Fields of Faith shared the following feedback:

  • “Thanks for all the prayers and support. Our God is AMAZING.”
  • “I recommitted my life to Our Savior … I’m not a perfect Christian, but I’m forgiven.”
  • “No better sight than seeing those who have encountered Jesus! A great night.”

Begun by FCA’s Executive Director of Strategic PartnershipsJeff Martin in 2004, Fields of Faith is an effective and highly engaging peer-to-peer event that inspires students to refuel their faith and get back to the basics of reading God’s Word through worship and personal testimonies.

FCA’s theme for 2022 is Every, based on Ephesians 1:3: “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.” FCA reminds Christian coaches and athletes that they already have everything they need in Christ and encourages them to seek Him both on and off the field.
