KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Hundreds of thousands of coaches and athletes have come to know Christ through Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ (FCA, www.fca.org) unique sports ministry. For 68 years, FCA staff and volunteers have worked with coaches and athletes for the glory of Christ through Huddles, Camps, and other events. FCA’s discipleship plan, “The CORE,” helps guide believers through their spiritual discipleship journey in order to engage with God’s Word and build a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.
“When you spend time strengthening your spiritual core, your entire life is transformed by the power of Jesus Christ and His Word,” FCA President and CEO Shane Williamson said. “With ‘The CORE,’ you can grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ as a believer and disciple.”
Using powerful Scripture references as a foundation, “The CORE” leads believers through eight essential steps to strengthen their faith:
- Join God’s Team
- Live with God’s Power
- Train Spiritually
- Communicate with God
- Study God’s Playbook
- Team Up with Others
- Know Your Role
- Share with Others
Designed to be completed either individually or in a one-on-one setting, “The CORE” gives participants the tools needed to be engaged in God’s Word, equipped on the basics of their faith, and empowered to move forward in their faith journey.
FCA’s theme for 2022 is Every, based on Ephesians 1:3: “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.” FCAreminds Christian coaches and athletes that they already have everything they need in Christ and encourages them to seek Him both on and off the field.
