Fellowship of Christian Athletes Announces 2019 Ministry Theme of ‘Let’s Go!’

In 2018, More Than 88,000 Strengthened Their Skills and Faith at 771 Camps in 43 States Across the Country and 50 Countries Around the World

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Sports can be loud. From the screaming fans to the coaches and athletes who shout passionately, the noise can sometimes be deafening.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA, www.fca.org) is hoping its 2019 ministry theme, which is the basis of the entire Camps season, will be shouted from the rooftops as well.

The 2019 theme of “Let’s Go!” is meant to be said with emphasis because it’s not only the rally cry for many athletes, coaches and teams, but it also should be the goal of Christians when they consider Christ’s call to the Great Commission.

In Mathew 28:18-20, Jesus says, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

“Our 2019 theme of ‘Let’s Go!’ reminds us that Jesus is straightforward when He calls anyone who has repented of their sins and believed in Him to action,” said FCA President and CEO Shane Williamson. “It’s not merely a suggestion. No, Jesus is exhorting us to go and make disciples. He challenges us, just as He did His disciples, to break the huddle, get in the game and run the play. Presenting the gospel and teaching God’s word to make disciples who make disciples. Together, we can see the world transformed by Jesus Christ. With confidence—Let’s Go—through the power of spirit and the promise of Christ’s presence.”

This past summer, more than 88,000 campers participated in 771 FCA Camps in 43 states and 50 countries for a time of “inspiration and perspiration.” FCA Camps take the best attributes of an athletic-focused camp and a spiritual-focused camp and combines them into an athletic/spiritual experience like none other. FCA Camps remove athletes and coaches from the routine of their sport, friends, co-workers and community, and place them into an exciting, healthy, athletic environment that allows them to pursue their passion for sport and clearly see and hear Christ’s passion for them.

The life-changing impact on coaches and athletes has been the main focus of FCA Camps since 1956. Today, competitors who want to reach their potential through comprehensive athletic, spiritual and leadership training attend a variety of Camps. View the 2019 FCA Camps video here.
