FCA’s 2022 ministry theme challenges participants to build a relationship with Christ both on and off the field

KANSAS CITY, Mo.— Every repetition adds up for a coach or athlete. Every practice matters. Every play counts. Athletes give every effort and all their energy to their sport, team and even fans. Oftentimes, it’s the world’s approval that fuels the enthusiasm and passion athletes have to be the best at their sport.

However, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA, www.fca.org) reminds Christian coaches and athletes that they already have everything they need in Christ. It’s the foundation of the FCA 2022 ministry theme — Every. FCA encourages coaches and athletes to seek Christ’s approval every time they put on their jersey or pick up the playbook and whistle. This way, they will be able to live every day as unto the Lord and receive the spiritual blessings He has in store.

“Now more than ever, FCA is ready to reach EVERY coach and athlete in every level and field,” said FCA president and CEO Shane Williamson. “We’re called to unity, and to make disciples from every nation, and I can’t think of a better ministry theme than ‘Every.’”

Throughout the year, FCA has been creating content and telling a story that focuses on what it means toseek God in every element of life, both on and off the field. The four elements of Every are Everything In Christ, Everyone Through Christ, Every Way Like Christ, and Every Day With Christ. This theme has been guiding FCA through the entire year of events, studies, gatherings, Huddles, Camps and more. Through the “Every Challenge,” FCA guides and empowers coaches and athletes with devotionals and other tools to help them learn how they can serve God in every way possible.

“Our theme verse, Ephesians 1:3, encourages us that as children of God, we have every spiritual blessing in Christ,” continued Williamson. “This brings great hope as we reach out to coaches and athletes with the good news of the Gospel.”

In this third quarter of the year, FCA is focusing on how to become like Christ in “Every Way.” The content will be broken up into three categories: “You are Rooted,” “You are Called,” and “You are Growing.” These topics will dive deeper into how to become connected with other Christians, what God’s purpose is for His followers, and how to purposefully live out God’s Word daily.
