For Two Years, The Tide^® Radio Ministry Has Been Reaching New Believers in Albania and Kosovo

Online Programming Allows Listeners to Hear About Jesus’ Love and Saving Grace, Even When They Are Far From Home

HARRISBURG, Pa.—Christians make up less than 1 percent of the population in Albania, where many Albanians continue to identify with Islam or are atheists. But for two years, The Tide^® (www.thetide.org) global radio ministry has been reaching potential new believers in Albania and Kosovo with the Gospel.

“We have been so blessed to hear the stories of those who have been impacted by The Tide ministry’s radio programming in Albania and Kosovo over these past two years,” said Don Shenk, director of The Tide ministry. “And we love partnering with pastors who can reach their people in the heart languages they were born to speak. There’s no sweeter sound than hearing about Jesus’ love and saving grace in your own language from local pastors—even if those words come through technology while potential believers are living in a completely different country than where they were born.”

Ilirjana is an Albanian wife and mother of three, currently living in Switzerland. She often listens to The Tide ministry programs in Albanian online, and is grateful that she can easily share the programs with her husband, who is currently not a believer.

“I am so thankful for the online programs that you are broadcasting,” Ilirjana wrote. “I listen regularly and my heart is filled with joy. Pastor Jeton has been such a great encouragement to me and such a blessing in my walk with the Lord.”

The Tide ministry continues to praise God that radio programs can reach people around the world through technology, even if they may be living far from home.

For more than 70 years, The Tide ministry has been sharing the saving message of Jesus Christ and has seen the Gospel’s power to bring peace and transformation around the world. With almost a quarter of the world’s population living within the current range of The Tide radio programming, and nearly 7,000 languages spoken in the world today, the opportunities are tremendous.

Later this year, The Tide ministry will also offer programming in its 25th language—Isaan, spoken by 19 million people in Thailand. That initiative will allow Thailand to join multiple regions of Zimbabwe, India, Nigeria, Nepal, Bhutan, Albania and Kosovo, where The Tide ministry is already active in broadcasting Gospel radio programming.
