Brenda and Chris of Montana Say, ‘We Are So Thankful for God’s Financial Provision, Especially During This Time of Crisis from the Coronavirus’

June 8, 2020

PEORIA, Ill.—When life seems to be progressing smoothly, it can be easy to take community for granted. But when life’s situations become more difficult, the reminder of why God provides Biblical communities here on Earth becomes very real.

Such is the current case with many around the country who are struggling with difficulties due to the coronavirus, whether health- or economy-related. During this time, members of Samaritan Ministries International (samaritanministries.org), one of the leading health care sharing ministries in the country, are thankful for the community of believers that comes together to share one another’s needs, as the Bible instructs in Galatians 6:2.

“I feel so very fortunate,” said Samaritan member Brenda in Montana. “I had two shoulder surgeries within five months, each for different reasons, and recovery has been trying most days. The prayers and blessings we receive from members of Samaritan Ministries every day gives me new hope. I can’t begin to tell how many times my husband (Chris) and I remind each other of how blessed we are to be part of Samaritan Ministries. We are so thankful for God’s financial provision, especially during this time of crisis from the coronavirus.”

Samaritan members like Brenda and Chris—along with 82,700 additional member households, or more than 270,000 individuals—not only have the support of Samaritan staff who pray with them during nearly every interaction, but they also pray for and send financial shares directly to their fellow members. Sending these affordable monthly shares, along with notes and cards of encouragement, to other families creates a connection that stays with families for years to come.

“To God be the glory!” wrote Tammi from Iowa. “There’s no other way to look at what is going on through Samaritan! He is doing marvelous things! I love sending my shares. And I love to write notes to my brothers and sisters in Christ to encourage them. And what a privilege to pray and trust our good, good Father in all things.”

Through this effective, God-honoring ministry, over a quarter of a million Samaritan Ministries members like Tammi are sharing approximately $30 million in medical needs person to person each month. In fact, over the past 25 years, Samaritan Ministries members have shared over $1.8 billion in health care needs.

“Initially, my trust in the Christian community’s ability to share each other’s health care expenses was small, I hate to say,” said South Carolina member Karen. “What a blessing it has been to have two of our needs met, one for me and one for my husband (William). It is especially encouraging during this time of crisis, and my personal faith that God can provide however He chooses has grown. Thank you, Samaritan Ministries staff, for all your work in making this possible.”
