Mike Miller Named Executive Director
of Donor and Board Advancement for
Fellowship of Christian Athletes
KANSAS CITY, Mo—Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA, www.fca.org) is announcing that Mike Miller has been named the Executive Director of Donor and Board Advancement and will join FCA’s executive leadership team.
“I am pleased to announce Mike Miller as Executive Director, Donor and Board Advancement,” said FCA President and CEO Shane Williamson. “We are blessed as a ministry to have Mike take the helm in this new position leading our ministry in the critical areas of donor and board development. Mike has been a humble and talented leader serving the Lord through FCA for three decades. He has not only served in nearly every role in FCA, but has done so in many different geographic areas of our country. His experience gives him a greatly enriched perspective on the ministry in this new endeavor. During his tenure, Mike has demonstrated great passion and gifts, specifically in donor and board development. Much of what I know about the significance and blessed opportunity to minister to the hearts of donors, I learned from Mike.”
Raised in Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky, Miller attended Western Kentucky University, where he played football. After graduation and a short stint in the business world, Miller had a quick run in professional football with the Atlanta Falcons and the Houston Oilers.
Miller was introduced to FCA in college through former Western Kentucky University football coach and FCA Hall of Champions inductee, the late Jimmy Feix. Coach Feix was a mentor and godly role model in Miller’s life. First called into FCA ministry in 1987 in Sarasota, Fla., Miller has served with FCA for nearly 30 years, with a brief hiatus as the CEO for a medical mission to Honduras.
During his 30 years in ministry, Miller has served FCA in several different roles, including: Area Representative, Florida; State Director, West Virginia; Metro Director, Cincinnati, Ohio; State Director, Ohio; Regional Director (Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia, Kentucky); and Senior Vice President, Development. For the past four years, Miller served as the FCA Atlanta Metro Director.
Miller also led several key initiatives for FCA including: FCA’s 50th anniversary national celebration for all staff and volunteers; creation of FCA’s first leadership board materials and training; design of national and local major donor development tools and experiences; and the establishment of the vision for key major donor projects and events, including the President’s Weekend and Legacy Weekend.
Miller and his wife, Caroline, have three sons: McLain, Jackson and Garrett. They live in Powder Springs, Ga., and Miller enjoys reading, running and outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing and golf.
