We Turn the Calendar on Christ’s Birth, Life and Death

With Christmas in the past, there’s no more tip-toeing around “Merry Christmas” greetings that might offend. But with the new year just around the corner, religion and culture expert and author Dr. Alex McFarland (www.AlexMcFarland.com) says we turn the calendar based on the birth, life and death of Jesus Christ.

“Even in the attempt to expunge Jesus from our dating system, we’ve used BC and AD for 1,500 years, and the line of demarcation is Christ.” McFarland said. “Substituting ‘Before Christ’ with the more ‘politically correct’ Common Era (CE) and Before Common Era (BCE) is a nice try to push Christ out of history, but we still flip the calendar based on the life of Jesus.”

Read McFarland’s newest column, “Academia’s Failed Search for Truth” in CNS News, where he shares that academia has become a place where those who profess Christ are dismissed.
