Not Just for Christmas: Members of Samaritan Ministries Are Grateful for the Gift of Health Care Sharing Through Samaritan All Year Long
Samaritan Member Arielle from Maryland Says, ‘We’re Seeing What a Gift It Is That We Really Are Giving to Another Family Every Month’

PEORIA, Ill.—This Christmas, Americans will reflect on the many gifts—both given and received—that make life full of blessings. Among them will be the 270,000-plus individuals (82,000 households) who are members of Samaritan Ministries International (samaritanministries.org), one of the leading health care sharing ministries in America.
Throughout the year, Samaritan members pray for their fellow members and give the gift of their monthly financial shares—including encouraging cards and personal notes—person to person, family to family. It’s like Christmas every month, all year long.
“Many of our members tell us they absolutely love sending their shares each month to other families,” said Anthony Hopp, vice president of external relations for Samaritan Ministries. “They truly enjoy doing health care in this way, and even if they’ve never had a need of their own, they view health care sharing through Samaritan Ministries as a gift—at Christmas and all year round.”
Tracy from Montana says that health care sharing through Samaritan Ministries is “a gift from God.”
“We have had needs and they are met—with love, with prayers,” Tracy said. “We were both sick last year. I love that we weren’t made to fit in a box. We have a functional medicine doctor, and she wanted to do some tests that really help find root causes instead of managing disease. Samaritan (members) shared it all. I felt like they bent over backwards to help us get the best care. We can’t say enough good things about it.”
Arielle from Maryland said she is thankful for Samaritan Ministries because it allows members to support one another and do what the Bible commands.
“It’s a blessing to so many, and we’re seeing what a gift it is that we really are giving to another family every month,” she said.
Beth in Iowa shared Psalm 18:49 with her testimonial: “Therefore will I give thanks unto Thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises unto Thy Name.”
“What a joy to be a part of a ministry that is such a blessing to both those who desire to be a blessing, and to those who need a blessing!” Beth said. “God is so good to us, as He has allowed so many to ‘share in our burden. (The) notes of encouragement and monetary gifts of all sizes have so greatly enlarged our praise to the LORD.”
Luke and Nadia of California said their family has been “blessed tremendously” through members of Samaritan Ministries.
“The cards and prayers were very much appreciated, and this special touch is what makes giving and receiving these gifts a pleasure,” they said. “Writing a check each month to a Samaritan member is something we look forward to.”
Each month, Samaritan members share $30 million in medical needs—person to person and family to family—praying and including notes and cards of encouragement with their financial gifts. In fact, over the past 25 years, Samaritan members have shared $1.8 billion in medical needs.
