NOVEMBER IS NATIONAL ADOPTION MONTH: The Courageous Choice of a Lifetime

Ryan Bomberger: ‘I am the One Percent That is Used One Hundred Percent of the Time to Justify All Abortions’

November 22, 2021

WASHINGTON D.C. — Ryan Bomberger’s mother was raped yet courageously gave him a chance to live. Today, few are as passionate about adoption as Ryan Bomberger, chief creative officer and co-founder of The Radiance Foundation (Radiance, Adopted at six weeks, Ryan grew up in a loving, multi-color Christian family of 15 with siblings from various backgrounds. An advocate for the purpose of all life at every age, stage, and ability, Bomberger emphasizes the power of adoption as a loving alternative to abortion.

“I am the one percent that is used one hundred percent of the time to justify all abortions, but I am the resilience of my birth mom,” Bomberger commented. “She chose to be stronger than her circumstances, and I am beyond grateful for her courage.

“By talking to rape survivors across the country at events on college campuses, in churches, in schools, and at adoption-related conferences, I’ve discovered a common thread. Children conceived in rape are often considered by their biological mothers as the only redemption of such a horrific and violent act.”

Bomberger continued, “As a result of my birth mother’s singular decision, I grew up adopted and loved. My parents, Andrea and the late Henry Bomberger, had three biological children and adopted ten. Despite a society that couldn’t fully embrace such a diverse family, my parents defied the world’s hopelessness and opposition as they showed us that color isn’t what binds us—love is. They shattered the myth of the ‘unwanted’ child. Today, I am a happily married man and an adoptive father. My amazing wife, Bethany, and I have four remarkable children (two of whom were also adopted).

“I am forever thankful to my birthmom for giving me the gift of life and adoption. I’m equally grateful to two incredible parents whose love unleashed God-given purpose in my life.”
