Ryan and Bethany Bomberger of The Radiance Foundation Affirm:‘All Life Has Purpose’

November 8, 2021

WASHINGTON D.C. — There has been a recent surge of children’s books promoting the “progressive” agenda, with some experts claiming that these books are just a way to “indoctrinate kids into a particular ideology.” This indoctrination of young minds comes on the heels of the nationwide debate about Critical Race Theory, explicit sexual education, and other controversial topics that are being forced into school districts and taught to children of all ages.

One topic that many parents, guardians, and teachers struggle to address is the concept of abortion. With the arguments between the pro-life and pro-choice groups heating up along with the need for protection against leftist literature for young children infiltrating our nation’s schools, many parents are looking for an age-appropriate book for their children that highlights the beauty of the pro-life message.

Bethany Bomberger, executive director and co-founder of The Radiance Foundation (Radiance, www.radiance.life), saw this niche in the market and wrote “Pro-Life Kids!”, a child-friendly book that uses rhyme and adorable illustrations to educate children about what it means to be pro-life. The ground-breaking picture book reinforces the value of every human being, in and out of the womb. An educator for over a decade and mother of four, Bomberger’s book highlights the truth that every life—planned or unplanned, abled or disabled—has purpose.

“My goal with ‘Pro-Life Kids!’ is to give parents, teachers, pastors and other faith leaders a creative and memorable tool that can be used by anyone who is looking to share an age-appropriate pro-life worldview with children. It also includes pages of helpful resources and examples of how everyday kids can be pro-life in their communities,” Bomberger commented.

Bomberger continued, “Children are naturally pro-life. Sadly, they’re often taught that it’s okay to harm another innocent human being. Every human life has God-given purpose. We have to teach our children this truth before a broken world reaches them,” says Bomberger. “As a pro-life adoptive mama of biological and adopted children, I believe every child—regardless of circumstances—has equal and irrevocable worth. There’s no such thing as unwanted. We’re all wanted by someone.”

The bright and colorful children’s book highlights every person’s individuality, stating, “Pro-life means for life. We’re cheering for you. Your life is important—there’s only one you.” Depicting images of people of various ethnicities, abilities, and ages, Bomberger’s book focuses on how “it doesn’t matter your size or age, you have equal value no matter the stage.” In addition, “Pro-life Kids!” highlights options such as adoption and compassionate help from local pregnancy care centers.

Bomberger stated, “I want to empower parents, teachers, faith leaders, and any teen or adult who would like to convey an age-appropriate pro-life worldview to kids ages 2-12. Youth from the youngest ages are targeted with so much destructive ideology. ‘Pro-Life Kids!’ aims to counter that by celebrating our humanity and offering ways we can help shift culture.”
