‘Children are best protected and given the best opportunities of emotional, spiritual, and academic development in a stable marital environment with both mother and father’

WASHINGTON D.C. — America is facing a fatherlessness crisis. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, one in four — 18.4 million children — live without a biological father or father figure in the home. Forty-one percent of children in America are born to unmarried mothers. The result of the decline of the traditional family model is catastrophic. Children who grow up without a father figure are four times more likely to be raised in poverty, seven times more likely to have a teen pregnancy, two times more likely to drop out of school, and are overall more likely to commit a crime, abuse drugs and alcohol, or be obese.
Ryan Bomberger, chief creative officer and co-founder of The Radiance Foundation (Radiance, www.radiance.life), believes that despitethe leftist propaganda that claims that women are the most important force in a child’s life, dads always matter. A good father is key to providing a safe, happy environment for a child.
Bomberger commented, “Today’s popular culture would like to think that family can be defined in any way, but there are clear differences in outcomes for children. We don’t disparage single parents, especially those who do all they can to provide for their child(ren), on every level, but we highlight the ideal — the model that brings the most benefit to our children and to our society.
“When a child is conceived, a man becomes a father. The abortion industry has created a culture of abandonment that denies this biological and social reality. According to the CDC, 84% of women who have abortions are unmarried. Responsibility has become someone else’s concern, and the solution to ‘unplanned’ pregnancies — the natural result of sexual behavior — is death. Most often an innocent child is left defenseless by the absence of a father.”
Bomberger continued, “Social science proves, time and time again, the crucial nature of intact two-parent married homes. Family is the foundation of any society. We need our mothers AND fathers. Children are best protected and given the best opportunities of emotional, spiritual, and academic development in a stable marital environment with both mother and father.”
