Samaritan Ministries Members Thankful for Many Blessings of Health Care Sharing

‘The Best Health Care for My Family—I Couldn’t Ask for Anything Better’

PEORIA, Ill.—Members of Samaritan Ministries International (samaritanministries.org), one of the leading health care sharing ministries in America, experience a whole new way to do health care, as they send monthly shares directly to other members to help them pay their medical bills. And while the affordable monthly share amounts help families’ budgets, the prayers and encouraging notes members send to each other is what sets Samaritan health care sharing apart.

Samaritan Ministries headquarters receives positive notes and emails every day from members whose only reason to write is to say they are blessed by health care sharing. And the message is clear: health care sharing is not insurance—it’s a voluntary bearing of one another’s health care burdens to help fellow Christians in need.

Samaritan members give a monthly share of only $495 for a family of any size, while individuals give $220 and couples give $440, with lower amounts for adults under 26. Each month, more than 69,000 Samaritan member households (227,000 individuals) currently share $25 million in needs, following the Bible’s teachings to “bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2 | ESV).

Feedback from members nationwide is evidence that the simple practice of Biblical health care sharing has made a huge difference for many families.

“I absolutely love how this ministry operates,” said Cathryn of Ohio. “We have been blessed by this ministry since joining in November of 2015 and I actually don’t mind sending off my check every month because I get to send it to a family in need with an encouraging note!”

Calvin and Deirdre of North Carolina also reported how their family has been blessed.

“The best health care for my family. I couldn’t ask for anything better. It’s truly has been a blessing to be a part of something so special and divine. Thank you … for allowing families and individuals to be members of this wonderful organization. This has been a great experience and I wouldn’t change it for any other health care that is offered.”

Similarly, Luke and Nadia of California shared that their family has been blessed tremendously through other Samaritan members.

“The cards and prayers were very much appreciated, and this special touch is what makes giving and receiving these gifts a pleasure. Writing a check each month to a Samaritan member is something we look forward to.”

Lindsey from Hawaii calls it a privilege to support her brothers and sisters in Christ through her prayers and her finances.

“Each letter from fellow believers came with hope and stirred us to continue to believe in the powerful God we serve,” she wrote. “Sending our shares to others is equally encouraging, as we feel that we are a part of a powerful team. And the truth is, we are! We are also impressed at the organization and professionalism of the Samaritan staff.”
