Samaritan Ministries Presents the Gift of Health Care Sharing at 2019 Winter Jam Tour Spectacular Concert Series

Winter Jam’s Exclusive Health Care Sharing National Sponsor, Samaritan Ministries, Has Biblical, Non-Insurance Approach to Health Care and Has Won the Attention of Christian Musicians Nationwide

PEORIA, Ill.—As a national sponsor of Winter Jam Tour Spectacular, the largest Christian music concert tour in the country, Samaritan Ministries International has learned that many Christian musicians and their families appreciate a Biblical, non-insurance approach to health care.

From January through March 2019, Samaritan Ministries, one of the leading health care sharing ministries in America, will serve as the exclusive health care sharing national partner for the popular concert series for the third consecutive year. At all 44 stops along the tour, Samaritan staff, members and volunteers will share what they love about health care sharing.

“Health care sharing through Samaritan Ministries is a perfect fit for many in the Christian music industry,” said Amanda Wilton, Samaritan Ministries’ marketing coordinator who has worked for several years with the Winter Jam partnership. “They may have young families, do not work in a traditional workplace and travel frequently, so Samaritan’s freedom to visit any doctor anywhere is a major benefit. Plus, artists who are on the road can also access online resources, such as a Dashboard that allows members to get free medical advice from doctors and nurses, find the best prices for their health care online, seek out professionals wherever they are, and even connect with other members and send their monthly financial shares electronically. Christian musicians have lots of health care options, and we’re blessed that more and more are joining Samaritan Ministries.”

With more than 80,000 member households (260,000-plus individuals), Samaritan has practiced Biblical health care sharing for nearly 25 years, with a focus on Christians helping other Christians with their health care needs, following the teaching of Galatians 6:2, which says, “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” (ESV).

Christian artists often tell Samaritan how health care sharing has made a difference in their lives.

“I chose to use Samaritan Ministries because of its affordability in conjunction with the fact that it bypasses what I believe to be a very faulty health care system in America,” said Andrew Picha, drummer and bandmate of Jordan Feliz. “I feel taking care of the needs of others is a much better use and stewardship of my money than throwing it in what feels like a black hole that is health insurance.”

Tenth Avenue North frontman Mike Donehey said the band’s members enjoy the health care freedom that Samaritan offers and being able to bless others.

“Becoming part of Samaritan Ministries has given us freedom when it comes to health care,” said Donehey. “Being on the road and traveling a lot, we never know when we may get sick. It’s comforting to know that if one of the band members needs a doctor, he can just go see one without the hassle of checking in with a network. Beyond that, it’s awesome to send our monthly share to another Christian in need and get to bless them like that! Who would have thought blessing someone else could be part of health care?”

Eddie Carswell, co-founder of NewSong and the Winter Jam Tour, said Samaritan is a good fit with the tour.

“Winter Jam is proud to partner with Samaritan Ministries once again this year,” said Carswell. “Several of those that have joined us on the tour over the years have become members of Samaritan, including bandmates in NewSong. One aspect we enjoy immensely is that Samaritan Ministries offers Christian music artists freedom to choose their own doctors wherever they might find themselves while on their busy tour schedules. Samaritan has certainly breathed a breath of fresh air into health care, and I’m so glad we are part of it!”

The Winter Jam tour begins Jan. 11 in Jacksonville, Florida, and ends March 31 in Cleveland, Ohio; view the tour schedule at 2019.jamtour.com/cities and learn more about Samaritan’s partnership with Winter Jam here.

Performers at Winter Jam 2019 will be Newsboys UNITED, Danny Gokey, Rend Collective, Mandisa, NewSong, LEDGER and Hollyn. Performing at the “Pre-Jam Party” will be Dan Bremnes, Ty Brasel and Manic Drive. Winter Jam speakers are Greg Stier and Zane Black from Dare 2 Share Ministries.

Each month, Samaritan’s growing Biblical community shares approximately $28 million in medical needs person to person. Yet the monthly share has never exceeded $495 for a family of any size and is even less for two-person and single-person households. This direct-sharing approach also allows members to not only help fellow believers with their medical financial needs, but also connect monthly with prayer, personal notes and cards of encouragement.

Samaritan Ministries offers two membership levels, Samaritan Classic and Samaritan Basic. Samaritan Basic has a lower monthly share coupled with a higher initial unshared amount than Samaritan Classic. Monthly shares for Samaritan Basic start as low as $100 for one person, $200 for two people and $250 for a family of any size, depending on age. Some guidelines differ between Samaritan Basic and Samaritan Classic; contact Samaritan Ministries for details or visit this link.
