Southern Evangelical Seminary President
Dr. Richard Land at White House During Signing of Religious Liberties Executive Order
Evangelical Leader Praises Order That Will Return Religious Freedom to Individuals and Churches
CHARLOTTE, N.C.—Southern Evangelical Seminary (SES, www.ses.edu) President and Evangelical leader Dr. Richard Land was present today at the White House National Day of Prayer ceremony in the Rose Garden, where President Donald Trump signed an important executive order ensuring the protection of religious liberties in America.
“Today’s historic executive order restoring religious freedoms across the nation was a crucial step in returning America’s religious landscape to what our Founding Fathers envisioned,” Land said. “Churches and pastors will no longer have to live in fear of losing their tax-exempt status for guiding their congregations on the most crucial issues of the day. Likewise, religious organizations, such as the Little Sisters of the Poor, will not be forced to pay for health care practices that go against their deeply held religious beliefs.
“It is an important day for religious freedom in our nation,” Land continued, “and I, along with other faith leaders who serve with me on President Donald Trump’s White House Faith Advisory Board, thank him for his unwavering commitment to religious freedom and for keeping his campaign promises to all Americans.
