Staying Laser-Focused on the Agenda at Hand
Financial Expert Dan Celia’s Message to Congress: The American People Put You in Office to Do What’s Best for the Country
PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—Like many Americans—of any political party—financial expert and nationally syndicated host Dan Celia is tired of the circus that has become Washington, D.C. And the inaction by America’s elected lawmakers will soon affect the American people financially—if it hasn’t already.
Celia, who leads Financial Issues Stewardship Ministries (FISM, www.financialissues.org) and focuses on important economic news and biblical investing during his daily, three-hour program, “Financial Issues,” has a message for Congress—do the business of the American people.
“We put you in office,” Celia said on a recent “Financial Issues” program, “not because we live in a democratic, legislative house. We are a republic. We don’t want to go to the polls every day and vote for different things. We elect people from our districts who represent our wishes, desires and common-sense actions of what is right for us, the American people and for the country. We elect you to represent us.”
Celia also wrote in a new op-ed today for Townhall.com, where he is a regular, featured columnist, that the White House, Senate and House of Representatives continue to be out of step with the American people. More importantly, they continue to be out of step with what is needed for the well-being of our nation.
“It certainly is one thing to have an agenda and to fight and work hard for that agenda,” Celia wrote. “Yet it is quite another to step all over it, thanks to all the garbage going on inside—and outside—the White House. I certainly am very disappointed in the lack of legislative progress as I watch Republicans fight over stopping something they once supported. Republicans ran a campaign based on repealing Obamacare, but now seem to want very little to do with it.”

“These are the same Republicans,” he continued, “who promised the American people a better America—claiming they would stand up for what is right if they were able to get control. Apparently, they have yet to realize they do have control and are doing what they do best—nothing. All that is happening in the White House is nothing more than shameful activity from grown men and women who are pretending they have the capabilities to lead the American people.”
