The Tide® Annual Golf Benefit Set for June 15 at Historic Penn National Golf Club
39th Annual Event in Fayetteville Helps The Tide International Ministry Purchase Radios for Villages, Build Studios and Spread the Love of Christ
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.—Each year, The Tide® (www.thetide.org) global Gospel radio ministry provides a wonderful way to make a global impact for Christ while hitting the links.
The 39th Annual Golf Benefit for The Tide ministry will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start on June 15 on the Founder’s Course at the Penn National Golf Club in Fayetteville, Pa., where The Tide record still reigns as the longest-running golf benefit.
“One of our most exciting community events, The Tide Annual Golf Benefit, brings golfers of all ages and skill levels together for one purpose—to help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world,” said The Tide Director Don Shenk. “This fun, annual event raises funds for The Tide ministry to distribute radios and deliver Gospel programming in remote villages, reaching those who have never heard about Jesus and His love.”
The event is limited to the first 128 golfers who register; advance registration and payment is required, and the cost is $90 per golfer, which covers greens fees for 18 holes of golf, a cart, refreshments at various locations around the course and a picnic lunch.
Golfers will be entered into drawings for prizes including golf clubs, golf bags, push carts, a GPS unit and other valuable items. Prizes will also be awarded to the top two teams in the scramble, as well as for the longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin on designated holes. A $10,000 hole-in-one prize is also being offered on the ninth hole.
Currently, The Tide ministry works to reach people in seven countries on three continents through 24 heart languages. Nearly a quarter of the world’s population lives within the current range of The Tide radio programming, and with nearly 7,000 languages spoken in the world today, the opportunities are tremendous for people to hear the Word of God.
Later this year, The Tide ministry will offer programming in its 25th heart language—Isaan, spoken by 19 million people in Thailand. That initiative will allow Thailand to join multiple regions of Zimbabwe, India, Nigeria, Nepal, Bhutan, Albania and Kosovo, where The Tide ministry is already active in broadcasting Gospel radio programming.
