The Tide® Global Gospel Radio Ministry Partners with Child Evangelism Fellowship to Share the Gospel Message with Children in India

The Tide® Ministry Hopes to Reach Children Through Music and Bible Stories Broadcast in the Hindi Language

HARRISBURG, Pa.—By beginning the Good News Club broadcast with a song, The Tide® (www.TheTide.org) ministry and Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) hope to capture the attention of young viewers in India. The two ministries—whose goals are to reach people across the globe—are working together to present the Gospel to the next generation in India by producing a weekly television program to broadcast into India.

The Tide ministry, broadcasting the Gospel message in 27 languages in nine countries on three continents using local languages, also known as heart languages, has never shied away from ministering in hard-to-reach places. “Multiple religions are practiced throughout India, but Hinduism is the largest religion there, and only about two percent of the population profess to be Christians,” said The Tide Director Don Shenk. “That means there are still over 1.2 billion people in India who don’t yet know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior!”

The Tide ministry will partner with CEF by assisting with a project to broadcast the Good News Club on satellite TV in Hindi, the most widely spoken language in India. The aim of the TV program is to allow the children to both hear the Gospel and to grow in their relationship with the Lord. The opening song of each Good News Club broadcast will be followed by a Bible story with application for both unsaved and saved children, memory verses, and other tools to help children understand and respond to God’s truth. The Tide and CEF believe they can help 3.5 million children develop relationships with and become witnesses for the Lord Jesus.

“Since 1978, we’ve been able to help change lives throughout India and help plant churches where believers can be nurtured in their faith and through which whole communities can be drawn into the Kingdom of God,” said Shenk. “We’re excited to work with CEF as they focus on leading the youngest generation to Christ.”

For nearly 75 years, The Tide ministry has recorded and broadcast gospel programming in nine countries on three continents in 27 heart languages spoken by millions of people in multiple regions, including Albania, Bhutan, India, Kosovo, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, and Zimbabwe. With more than 7,000 languages spoken worldwide and more than 2,000 people groups yet unreached with the Good News of Jesus, the opportunities are tremendous.
