The Tide® Global Gospel Radio Ministry Partners with Child Evangelism Fellowship to Share the Gospel Message with Children in the Middle East

The Tide® Ministry Hopes to Reach Children Through Puppets and Apologetics Broadcast into Muslim and Arab Societies

November 16, 2020

HARRISBURG, Pa.—By beginning the Good News Club broadcast with a song, The Tide® (www.TheTide.org) ministry and Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) hope to capture the attention of young viewers in the Middle East. The two ministries—whose goals are to reach people across the globe—are working together to present the Gospel to the next generation in the Middle East by producing weekly television episodes of their evangelistic program.

The Tide ministry, broadcasting the Gospel message in 27 languages in nine countries on three continents using local languages, also known as heart languages, has never shied away from ministering in hard-to-reach places. “Throughout the 28 countries in the Middle East, most children live in Arab and Muslim societies,” said The Tide Director Don Shenk. “So many of them have never heard the Gospel message.”

The Tide ministry will partner with CEF by assisting with a project to broadcast a puppet show on satellite TV into Middle Eastern countries. The aim of the TV program is to provide a forum for children to understand and respond to the Gospel while also providing answers to the most commonly asked questions regarding the Christian faith, endeavoring to make the Gospel extremely clear and simple so a child can understand it. The Tide and CEF believe that through this program, they can help five million children develop relationships with and become witnesses for the Lord Jesus.

“The puppets will explain the Christian faith but will not attack other faiths,” said Shenk. “They will also declare the salvation message and invite children to accept Jesus as personal savior. These puppet shows will enable children throughout the Middle East to hear of God’s love, learn the basics of the Christian faith, and hear the Gospel in a format that engages their attention.”

For nearly 75 years, The Tide ministry has recorded and broadcast gospel programming in nine countries on three continents in 27 heart languages spoken by millions of people in multiple regions, including Albania, Bhutan, India, Kosovo, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, and Zimbabwe. With more than 7,000 languages spoken worldwide and more than 2,000 people groups yet unreached with the Good News of Jesus, the opportunities are tremendous.
