The Tide® Global Radio Ministry Welcomes New Director of Development
Mark Story of Greencastle, Pa., Has 25 Years of Nonprofit Experience
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.—The Tide® (www.thetide.org) global radio ministry is welcoming a new director of development to help support the mission of the seven-decade-old ministry that reaches listeners around the world with the Gospel.
Mark D. Story will join The Tide ministry team on June 1. He grew up in rural Maine as the son of a protestant church pastor, and as a child came to know Christ as his personal Savior. Story brings to The Tide ministry both educational qualifications and valuable experience. He first received theological training with a bachelor’s degree from Lancaster (Pa.) Bible College and went on to receive nonprofit training with a master’s degree from Eastern University.
“Mark’s heart resonates with the purpose and mission of The Tide ministry,” said The Tide Director Don Shenk, “having served along with his wife as missionaries in Tanzania through Africa Inland Mission. We are thrilled to welcome him to our team as he helps expand our varied ministry activities across the globe and are convinced that Mark has been brought to The Tide ministry through God’s hand of direction.”
Story has worked in the nonprofit sector for over 25 years, during which time he led fundraising efforts for a Christian conference center, Habitat for Humanity and the Franklin County (Pa.) Public Libraries. His hobbies include camping, riding an antique motorcycle and gardening.
In 1996, Story married Jill (McKee), who teaches at Shalom Christian Academy. They have two daughters: Moriah and Lydia. The Story family resides in Greencastle, Pa., and are members of Cornerstone Bible Church.
The Tide offers Gospel programming in 25 heart languages in regions of Albania, Bhutan, India, Kosovo, Nepal, Nigeria, Thailand and Zimbabwe—in the languages people were born to speak.
