The Tide® Ministry Marks 70 Years of New Lives in Christ; Four Decades Spent in India
Global Radio Ministry Recently Announced the Addition of 24th Heart Language—Telugu—Spoken by 74 Million in India
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.—Seventy years ago, The Tide® (www.thetide.org) global radio ministry started in one small Pennsylvania town, but today reaches millions with radio programming in 24 languages, including India—the world’s second most populous nation.
“The Tide ministry has been sharing the Gospel in India for 40 years, and we continue to hear from new believers whose lives were changed after hearing the Gospel over radio airwaves,” said The Tide Director Don Shenk. “One listener of our radio program there recently shared, ‘One day when I listened to the program, I came to know about Jesus Christ. The whole program was very appealing and interesting. Now I listen to it regularly and receive good moral teaching and blessings. I want to accept Jesus Christ and want to live in His fellowship.’ Praise God for these lives changed!”
The Tide ministry recently introduced radio programming in its 24th heart language—Telugu in India, spoken by 74 million people.
As it continues to reflect on 70 years, The Tide ministry broadcasts the Gospel of Jesus Christ through radio programming in heart languages around the world, bringing the truth and hope of the Savior to people in the language they were born to speak. Spreading the Gospel in multiple regions of Zimbabwe, India, Nigeria, Nepal, Bhutan, Albania and Kosovo, The Tide global radio ministry praises God for the many doors He has opened in the seven decades it has been in existence.
