Todd Starnes and Kamal Saleem Join Dr. Alex McFarland, Founder of Truth for a New Generation, for Upcoming ‘Unashamed’ Richmond Conference

Other Defenders of Truth—Tina Marie Griffin, Meeke Addison, Charles Crismier and William Federer—Will Help Christians of All Ages Stand Up for the Gospel in a Culture That Desperately Needs It

GREENSBORO, N.C.—Author and Fox News commentator Todd Starnes has seen a recent flurry of activity surrounding his new book, “Culture Jihad: How to Stop the Left From Killing a Nation.” First, Facebook has refused to publish paid advertisements to promote the new book. And his social media team has noticed a massive drop in traffic whenever the name of the book is mentioned on Facebook.

But then, President Donald Trump retweeted a congratulatory post about the book. In fact, Starnes’ book has hit No. 1 in the History of Christianity category on Amazon.

For decades, the world-renowned journalist has been a newsmaker and a truth-teller—just one reason why Dr. Alex McFarland and the Truth for a New Generation (TNG) ministry is welcoming Starnes to an upcoming special two-day event to help young people, families and Christians of all ages realize that one thing never changes—biblical truth.

The “Unashamed”Truth for a New Generation conference near Richmond, Virginia, on Oct. 11-12 seeks to transform lives for Christ, as McFarland and other Christian apologists equip, empower and inspire attendees of all ages to confidently share the gospel of Jesus, go deeper in their faith, experience core truths that make for an unshakable faith and learn how to defend Christianity with boldness in any situation. Other nationally recognized events, set in cities around the nation, have accomplished the same. In fact, a second TNG “Unashamed” conference is set for Nov. 15-16 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Starnes said his new book is a commentary on the state of the culture.

“A lot of people have asked ‘What’s up with the title?’ and ‘Why is it so provocative?’” Starnes has said about “Culture Jihad.” “It’s because it is a provocative time in our country, and there is an attempt to silence people of faith around this nation. … That’s why I wrote ‘Culture Jihad.’ This is a warning. This is a wakeup call to the church in America. We have to wake up. We’ve got to get off the sidelines and we’ve got to get engaged in this culture fight.”

Fellow Truth for a New Generation speaker in Richmond, Kamal Saleem, knows for a fact there is a culture fight raging. Saleem is a speaker and author and is uniquely equipped concerning the true culture and agenda of radical Islam. He carries a message to awaken the Church through the truth, education and relationships.

At the tender age of 7, Saleem carried out his first mission after being recruited by the Muslim Brotherhood. His road to freedom—and Christianity—was a long one, but today’s he’s committed to communicating the truth about Islam.

“Todd Starnes brings issues of religious freedom and the protection of the nation’s heritage in front of the American people like no one else,” McFarland said. “And Kamal Saleem’s message of truth and redemption is absolutely amazing. His story relays to perhaps uninformed Christians the forces working hard to dismantle our faith. We’re honored to welcome them both to the Truth for a New Generation conference in Richmond next month, as they put today’s pressing issues in the faces of all Americans and truly make them think.”

Born to a large Sunni Muslim family in the Middle East, Saleem was also recruited by the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and other radical Muslim groups. After many years of radical Islamist training, he eventually mastered every form of divisive extremist tactics. As a young man, he left his family to enter his “mission field”—the United States—with the intent to convert as many Christians and Jews as possible for the glory of Allah. He worked effectively in what is now known as “stealth” cultural jihad.

In 1985, Saleem was seriously injured in an automobile accident; Christian men aided him at the scene and nurtured him back to health. These men demonstrated the unconditional, redemptive love of Christ, and since then, Saleem has become a man on a new mission as an ambassador for Christ.

Saleem is uniquely equipped with tremendous insight into today’s most pressing issues, armed with a wealth of knowledge about the true culture and agenda of radical Islam. He is well-versed in the Bible, Quran, Hadith and Sira (Shariah Law). He believes radical Islam is the most broadly disguised present danger to Christians, Jews and all non-Muslim people of the world, and carries the message to awaken the Church through truth, education, prayer and relationship.

The former jihadi is now president of Koome Ministries—from the Aramaic word from the Old Testament meaning “arise.” The ministry seeks to reach a lost and oppressed people with the liberty of Jesus Christ with a threefold goal: to wake up, educate and train the Christian and Jewish communities on the impending dangers of radical Islam; to reach Muslims with the redemptive message of Christ; and to teach the church “relationship evangelism” to reach Muslims with the truth. In 2009, Saleem wrote his memoir, “The Blood of Lambs.”

Starnes is a popular Fox News commentator and columnist, heard daily on hundreds of radio stations around the nation. He also makes regular appearances on Fox News Channel, including on “Fox & Friends,” and on Fox Business Network. He is the author of several books, including “The Deplorables’ Guide to Making America Great Again,” “Dispatches from Bitter America” and “God Less America,” and is a frequent speaker. He is the host of the three-hour, daily “Todd Starnes Show” on Fox News Radio and has covered a number of high-profile stories, taking him from Wall Street to the White House. McFarland has also been a guest on his newest television show, “Starnes Country,” which airs on Fox Nation.

Starnes has been the recipient of a regional Radio Television Digital News Association’s Edward R. Murrow Award and an Associated Press Mark Twain Award for storytelling. In 2014, he was awarded the National Religious Broadcaster’s Board of Directors Award. He is the recipient of First Liberty Institute’s Defender of the Faith Award, Vision America’s National Hero of Faith Award, Bott Radio Network’s Watchman on the Wall Award, and Pacific Justice Institute’s Light in Media Award.
