Trail Life USA’s unique Proven Process celebrates boyhood while preparing boys for manhood

Trail Life CEO: “We have seen that a ‘one size’ fits all approach fails the boy and fails the world that needs him to become a man”

GREENVILLE, S.C. — As teachers, parents, and students prepare for the start of the 2022-2023 school year, many parents of young boys are concerned about the potentially stifling school environment. Families looking for a healthy, boy-centric setting for their sons don’t need to look farther than Trail Life USA (TrailLifeUSA.com), the largest Christ-centered, boy-focused scout-type organization in the country. Trail Life provides boys with the adventure, experience, and camaraderie they need to thrive.

“Strong, competent, chivalrous men of character and confidence are a valuable but shrinking commodity,” Trail Life CEO Mark Hancock stated. “In a culture that fails to recognize that boys and girls are different, we have seen that a ‘one size’ fits all approach fails the boy, and fails the world that needs him to become a man. The next generation needs men — men of character who can lead with courage, and who dare to stand when truth is under attack. We get there by laying a foundation for boys that it’s good to be boys, then we create a space where they can do that, and we reward their progress.”

Trail Life creates a space where boys can celebrate being boys and engage in outdoor adventure and leadership challenges. More and more families across the nation are learning the value of Trail Life’s unique approach to raising young men of character. Trail Life has grown by nearly 7,000 new members in 2022 alone. In just the last month, over 350 individuals have reached out for information on starting a Trail Life Troop, and almost 20 new Troops have been formed. With Trail Life’s success in growing to over 40,000 members in under ten years, boys and men are building meaningful relationships, growing in character, developing in leadership, and just having fun in the great outdoors.

Hancock continued, “Adam was not created in the beauty and security of the Garden of Eden. He was created in the wild and placed in the garden with a mission. He was to go, ‘fill the earth and subdue it.’ God made man to explore, conquer, lead, face dangers, and overcome obstacles with the tools, heart, and power God instilled in him as a man. At Trail Life, we are teaching boys to fulfill God’s purpose and obey His commands each time we put them in a situation where they must solve problems and overcome the difficulties life throws at them. No matter the situation, boys grow and learn through challenge and conquest.

“The same principles apply to developing character and strong faith in Christ,” said Hancock. “Reading and hearing about God are important, but the muscles of faith are strengthened through action. James 2:17 states, ‘Faith without works is dead.’ As boys experience God through service and adventure, as they rub shoulders with mentors, as they face challenges and pray and see answers, faith becomes personal. Instead of knowing intellectually about God, boys come to know God.”

Trail Life USA’s unique Proven Process has received praise from some of the top Christian voices today, including Focus on the Family, Franklin Graham, James Dobson, Mike Huckabee, Alex and Stephen Kendrick, Family Life, Promise Keepers, the American Family Association, and many others.
