‘Trump Aftershock’ Author Stephen E. Strang:
In Time of Turmoil and Division, Delayed SOTU Takes on Greater Significance
ORLANDO, Fla.—President Donald Trump’s January 2018 State of the Union address was the third-longest in the past 50 years at 1 hour and 20 minutes.
With so much to say this year, 80 minutes may not be enough. (Bill Clinton, incidentally, took the No. 1 and No. 2 spots).
National tensions, border control scuffles, a government shutdown and more has given the 2019 State of the Union address much greater significance, says Stephen E. Strang, a best-selling author who has released his newest book, “Trump Aftershock.” The author and publisher adds that tonight’s address may be one of the most crucial addresses in President Trump’s leadership.
“The faith-based community that helped a great deal to elect this president into office, along with the rest of the nation, wants and needs to hear from the president,” Strang says. “Consider all that has changed in just the past few weeks, not to mention that fact that several Democrat presidential hopefuls have recently announced their plans to run in 2020. Trump showed dignity and class in a genuine attempt to reach across the aisle when it comes to border security. Plus, he graciously accepted Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s invitation to give the address tonight rather than the original date of January 29 during the government shutdown.
“In the current turmoil of our nation, citizens deserve to hear from our leader, about such important matters as the ongoing plan for smart and legal immigration, the protection of our borders, national security, health care and much more,” Strang continues. “It is important for President Trump to address his base of Evangelical voters, who want to see him continue to keep his many promises and carry out the agenda on which he campaigned. He’s made good on a strong percentage of those promises, and his supporters need to know he will stay on this positive track.”
“Trump Aftershock” explores the “president’s seismic impact on culture and faith in America” and uncovers unreported facts while objectively helping readers understand what the nation’s most unlikely and unconventional president has accomplished.
