Southern Evangelical Seminary Announces 2018 National Conference on Christian Apologetics

With Theme of ‘The God Who Is,’ 25th Annual Conference Will Welcome Nation’s Top Speakers and Equip Christians to Defend Faith

CHARLOTTE, N.C.—If there’s one thing Christians have learned in 2017, it’s that they must know what they believe and why they believe it, especially as the country has experienced tragedy, turmoil and tests.

For the past quarter-century, Southern Evangelical Seminary’s (SES, www.ses.edu) National Conference on Christian Apologetics has been providing Christians with the tools, knowledge and motivation to defend their beliefs in a culture that is becoming increasingly hostile to Christianity.

For 2018, the 25th anniversary of the conference, SES will focus on the theme of “The God Who Is,” as the seminary welcomes top thinkers, scholars, authors, apologists and scientific minds who will address the thousands in attendance. More details on the speakers and their backgrounds will be announced in the coming weeks.

“Southern Evangelical Seminary’s National Conference on Christian Apologetics continues to be a time to focus on the issues that are affecting every American, especially the faithful,” said SES President and Evangelical leader Dr. Richard Land, who will also serve as a conference speaker. “The 2018 conference will be especially significant, not only because it’s the 25th anniversary of the event, but also because the nation is perhaps in the midst of one of the most tumultuous periods in our history, with faith and beliefs at the core of many societal discussions. It remains as important as ever for Christians to follow the Apostle Peter’s command to always be ‘ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope that is in you’ (1 Peter 3:15). Consequently, the theme of our silver anniversary conference will be knowing and sharing with others ‘The God Who Is.’”

The 2018 conference is set for Oct. 12-13, again at the longtime host, Calvary Church in Charlotte.

SES recently unveiled its annual “12 Days of Apologetics” videos, a web-based series designed to equip Christians with information that supports the celebration of Christmas. The goal for the series is that Christians, along with those who are skeptical of Christianity, will be informed and impacted as they look at the compelling case for Christmas. Videos are posted on the SES Apologetics App as well as on the SES YouTube channel.
