PassionLife calls Christians to unite across denominations in defense of the unborn

Rescuing the innocent is the greater cause that allows us to find the necessary energy, willpower, people and resources to work together

MARIETTA, Ga. — While there are meaningful and significant theological disagreements within the Christian community, there is also wide agreement on the ethics of the Bible that allow Catholics and Protestants to work together, especially in defending the dignity and value of human life, which is the pro-life movement today. Rather than allow the respective theological differences to prevent joint effort and impact, pro-life leaders call for working together as “collaborating co-belligerents.”

PassionLife President, Pastor John Ensor, says, “When it comes to standing for life and rescuing the innocent from abortion, it’s both possible and vital that Catholics, Protestants, Evangelicals, Fundamentalists and Charismatics all work collaboratively to rescue mothers in a pregnancy-related crisis.”

PassionLife is a pro-life global missions partner to missionaries and indigenous Christian leaders who serve a wide spectrum of denominations in countries where abortion and infanticide are especially concentrated.

“Everywhere we go, we start with the Bible, since it is an authoritative guide for Christian leaders, both Catholics and Evangelicals worldwide. There is remarkable common ground when it comes to the ethical demands of the Bible. That allows us here and in many other parts of the world to find the necessary energy, willpower, people and resources to get to the end product of rescuing the innocent and ending abortion worldwide,” said Ensor.

PassionLife works with Christian organizations in high-abortion areas around the world to educate staff and volunteers on the Gospel of Life and make an everlasting difference in the lives of women and their families. By partnering with local churches and organizations, PassionLife leaders are able to get a better understanding of the regional attitude towards abortion, as well as a clear picture of the needs of local women.

John Ensor was a recent guest on Jacob Barr’s “The ProLife Team Podcast” to discuss the bridge between Evangelicals and Catholics in the pro-life movement, urging both communities to recognize the common belief in the Word of God and the moral wrongdoing of killing innocent children.

“For Evangelicals and Catholics working together, I always say, ‘Acknowledge the differences while striving for the same goal.’ We have incredible common ground — we all believe that it’s morally wrong to intentionally kill an innocent child. That is enough of a foundation for us to answer God’s call to rescue the innocent (Proverbs 24:11) and to do it as effectively as possible,” commented Ensor.

Since 2010, PassionLife has worked as a pro-life global missions partner to missionaries and Indigenous Christian leaders in China, Romania, Cuba, India, Vietnam and other countries where the plague of abortion, infanticide and gendercide is especially concentrated. In such places, PassionLife disciples people in a Biblical worldview of human value, teaches them how to make a case for life in a secular culture, sees abortion guilt and grief as an entry point for the Gospel’s offer of forgiveness and freedom, and provides models of pregnancy crisis intervention services that they can adapt to their culture and neighborhood.

“PassionLife,” a new half-hour show in partnership with NRBTV, highlights the ministry’s work around the globe, revealing how dedicated staff and volunteers teach the Gospel of Life to those in the most vulnerable situations. The show airs every Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. EST.

John Ensor, an ordained Evangelical pastor, has been a leader in the pro-life movement for over 30 years as a speaker, author, mentor and co-laborer. John serves as the President of PassionLife, where he concentrates on helping missionaries and indigenous Christian leaders serving in countries plagued by abortion to equip the church in bioethics and pregnancy crisis intervention services. He has been recognized in the “Legacy of Life” book as one of the fifty greatest pro-life leaders of the last 50 years. John is the co-host of the “PassionLife Podcast” with PassionLife Executive Director, Mark Nicholson. Together, they discuss ministry updates and provide commentary on global current events.
