AFA equips Christians to respond to cultural vitriol towards the faith
‘With the enemy escalating the war, we must respond with spiritual weapons,’ says AFA President Tim Wildmon
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Despite its Christian foundations, America is quickly slipping away from the faith. Many believers feel a cultural sense of negativity, or even hatred, towards Christianity, particularly after the rise of the religious “nones.” How can Christians respond to this divisive attitude towards their beliefs while simultaneously working to right the wrongs of today’s convoluted culture?
“We swim in shark-infested cultural waters,” said American Family Association (AFA) President Tim Wildmon. “A sociological study of over 6,500 Americans revealed what researchers called ‘Christianophobia’ — an irrational hatred of conservative Christians by a large segment of the Left. People with such hatred often told researchers that they wished for the death or torture of people like you and me. Jesus said, ‘A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you’ (John 15:20).”
“With the enemy escalating the war, we must respond with spiritual weapons. That’s why AFA is strengthening Christians and shining Christ’s saving Gospel into our dark culture through eight ministry divisions reaching every nook and cranny of America. That’s how we win against the hate and hostility. We advance our ‘arguments.’ Our ideas. Our biblical worldview. We do it with courage. And we give courage to others,” concluded Wildmon.
AFA’s latest film, “Culture Warrior: Don Wildmon and the Battle for Decency,” documents the courageous life and far-reaching impact of Mississippi preacher and AFA Founder Rev. Donald Wildmon. “Culture Warrior” is a multi-faceted chronicle of the rise of Christian activism, taking viewers through some of the most contested culture war battles of the past 50 years. Through a dynamic use of archival footage, music, and modern-day interviews, “Culture Warrior” gives viewers powerful insights into their own recent history. The documentary is available to watch for free on the film’s website, culturewarrior.movie.
