‘The American Church is close to a breaking point,’ declares AFA President Tim Wildmon

Amidst spiritual attacks and an onslaught of disinformation, there has never been more of a need for an awakening in America than this

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — American culture is precariously perched on a tipping point. The ongoing tension, fueled even further due to the recent assassination of Turning Point Founder and CEO Charlie Kirk, has experts concerned that extremists might resort to violence to emphasize dangerous disinformation. A report from the Family Research Council shows attacks on churches and other institutions have skyrocketed over the last five years, with the majority of these assaults motivated by incendiary comments found online.

This attack on American faith is a sign of the growing discontent within the culture of the nation, according to American Family Association (AFA) President Tim Wildmon.

“The American Church is close to a breaking point,” said Wildmon. “Liberal radicals are hellbent to warp our culture away from the biblical foundation that once made this nation unique. As our nation drifts further and further away from the truth, the pressure the Christian community faces has become so great that many are choosing safety in silence instead of boldly proclaiming the Gospel. How can we expect our nation to change if we are unwilling to speak the truth in love in the face of blatant falsehoods? We not only should be demanding a return to our biblical values but also beseeching the Holy Spirit to stir up a spiritual revival across the nation. There has never been a need for an awakening of the soul like this before.”

AFA’s latest film, Culture Warrior: Don Wildmon and the Battle for Decency,” documents the courageous life and far-reaching impact of Mississippi preacher and AFA Founder Rev. Donald Wildmon. “Culture Warrior” is a multi-faceted chronicle of the rise of Christian activism, taking viewers through some of the most contested culture war battles of the past 50 years. Through a dynamic use of archival footage, music, and modern-day interviews, Culture Warrior gives viewers powerful insights into their own recent history. The documentary is available to watch for free on the film’s website, culturewarrior.movie.
