Bad Bunny, bad decision; the NFL’s Super Bowl Halftime Show pick reflects the demise of America
‘This is just another feather in the cap of the degradation of America’s heart and soul,’ said Dr. Alex McFarland
GREENSBORO, N.C. — The NFL is facing the heat with the recent announcement of Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny as the upcoming Super Bowl LXII halftime performer. Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has a sordid history of questionable and offensive decisions, including dressing in drag, kissing men, and openly questioning traditional gender roles. Ocasio’s declaration that he will not perform in America for fear that ICE will raid and arrest his audience has raised several eyebrows, especially now that he has agreed to take millions of dollars to perform for the halftime show.
“Why do we have to politicize football when the majority of the viewers just want to watch a game?” said youth, culture and religion expert Dr. Alex McFarland. “Hundreds of millions of families across the nation will be watching the Super Bowl, and now they will be treated to the sight of a radical liberal who openly flaunts his hatred towards America and all she stands for. What kind of message does this send? Football has been America’s favorite pastime for generations. This is just another feather in the cap of the degradation of America’s heart and soul.”
Alex McFarland currently co-hosts Exploring the Word on the American Family Radio Network, airing daily on nearly 200 radio stations across the U.S. He is also the host of the “Alex McFarland Show,” which airs weekly on NRB TV and YouTube. The “Alex McFarland Show” podcast is available here.
