The American church is under siege from a rapidly shifting moral landscape, says AFA President Tim Wildmon

‘Traditional Christian beliefs are being sacrificed on the altar of political, humanistic ideology’

TUPELO, Miss. — A recent Barna study revealed that traditional biblical ideology isn’t even safe in the American church. Researchers found that a large number of adults who regularly attend church are abandoning traditional conservative perspectives on social and political issues amid a firm disinterest in a biblical worldview. The abandonment of a traditional worldview within the church is cause for extreme alarm, according to many faith leaders.

“We’ve known that American culture has been under attack from malicious forces for a long time,” said American Family Association (AFA) President Tim Wildmon. “But to see how far the American church has fallen is sobering. Traditional Christian beliefs are being sacrificed on the altar of political, humanistic ideology. It’s easy to flounder in the face of such amorality, but we, the faithful, must be vigilant and adhere to the truth.”

For over 40 years, AFA has been at the forefront of strengthening the moral foundations of American culture, equipping Americans to live out a biblical worldview. Founded by the late Pastor Don Wildmon in the face of a rapidly deteriorating moral landscape, AFA is one of the largest and most effective pro-family organizations in the country, with hundreds of thousands of supporters.

“This nation was founded by men of valor, faith and foresight. There has never been a more important time for America to return to her biblical roots,” commented Wildmon.

AFA’s latest film, Culture Warrior: Don Wildmon and the Battle for Decency,” documents the courageous life and far-reaching impact of Mississippi preacher and AFA Founder Rev. Donald Wildmon. “Culture Warrior” is a multi-faceted chronicle of the rise of Christian activism, taking viewers through some of the most contested culture war battles of the past 50 years. Through a dynamic use of archival footage, music, and modern-day interviews, Culture Warrior gives viewers powerful insights into their own recent history. The documentary is available to watch for free on the film’s website, culturewarrior.movie.
