‘There is always room at the table for one more,’ says Youth For Christ

YFC is refreshing souls and restoring the reason for the season, inviting families and friends to facilitate conversations around the themes of Advent

DENVER Youth For Christ USA (YFC, www.yfc.net) hasannounced the release of a new devotional for the Christmas season. The 2025 Advent Devotional is designed to foster community among people of all ages in any context, from young families to empty nesters, from the dinner table to small-group settings.

For 80 years, YFC has walked alongside young people who are experiencing pivotal moments in their lives. The story of Jesus’ birth is one of the most pivotal moments in history — a moment that delivered hope to humanity and reminds us that God sees and loves each one. This Christmas, YFC is preparing hearts to celebrate this sacred holiday and remember that there is always room at the table for one more.

Jake Bland, YFC President and CEO, said, “The Advent story begins with a King who chose a humble entrance — born in a stable, laid in a manger, welcomed without privilege or status. Though He held the authority of heaven, He came in meekness, drawing near to His people in love. Advent invites us to marvel at His coming, to anticipate His return, and to rest in the faithful ways He draws near today. This is our Advent hope.

“At Youth For Christ, we carry this same hope to the young people we walk alongside every day. Many feel unseen, overlooked or unsure of their worth. Advent reminds us that Jesus stepped fully into our world and our story — into weakness, sorrow and brokenness — so that no one would ever be forgotten. He is the One who understands, and He still draws near to the brokenhearted with deep compassion and love.”

As readers walk through this story of God’s faithfulness, they’ll find insights and hope for whatever lies ahead.

Bland noted, “Advent is the perfect time to look back and look forward. It’s a time of remembering and rejoicing, of watching and waiting.”

The devotional is divided into four thematic weeks, equipping readers to remember the reason for the season:

  • Week 1: Hope
  • Week 2: Peace
  • Week 3: Joy
  • Week 4: Love

Bland said, “As we remember in this season that he moves toward us in grace, we now move toward them — with presence, care and the good news of Christ — reminding them that they are known, cherished and held by the One who never forgets His own.

“May our hearts be renewed with gratitude for our Humble King and Savior and filled with fresh vision for the next generation. And may His light shine through us until every young person encounters Jesus and discovers the hope and new life found in Him alone.”
