53% of workers more stressed at Christmas, CBMC urges men to stay present

Christian Business Men’s Connection calls men nationwide to refocus their hearts on Christ during the hectic Christmas season

CHATTANOOGA, TN Christian Business Men’s Connection (CBMC) offers an antidote to rising levels of holiday stress this year. The organization urges men across the country to slow down, remain present and intentionally fix their attention on Christ as end-of-year demands intensify.

A recent Forbes workplace analysis found that 53 percent of employees experience more holiday stress than usual, while 22 percent say their overall well-being declines this time of year.

According to CBMC, those pressures often collide with the expectations men shoulder at home, at work and in their communities — leaving little room to reflect on the true meaning of Christ’s arrival.

“The Christmas season can easily become a blur of activities, obligations and end-of-year pressures,” said Matt Trayler, CBMC Director of Programs. “If we are not intentional, we will reach December 26 and realize we never paused to greet our Savior.”

The organization notes that the convergence of school concerts, holiday shopping, workplace deadlines, business goals and family gatherings often crowds out spiritual rest.

“Part of leading well is learning to slow down,” Trayler said. “There is no professional accomplishment, no holiday agenda item and no seasonal pressure that outweighs the importance of remembering why Christ came.”

To help men stay centered during one of the year’s most hectic months, CBMC is highlighting three practical ways to “greet the Savior” this Christmas:

  • Schedule quiet time in the Scriptures each day
  • Be present where your feet are
  • Reflect deeply on the gift of Christ’s coming

“When men slow down and spend time with Christ, their leadership changes,” Trayler said. “They become more present with their families, more patient with coworkers and more grounded in the hope that only Jesus provides.”

He added, “The arrival of our Savior is meant to fill our hearts. When men make time to reflect on what His coming truly means, they rediscover peace and purpose that no seasonal stress can take away.”

As Christmas approaches, CBMC continues equipping men nationwide through discipleship, leadership development and Christ-centered community.
