FCA announces new Regional Vice President for the Mid-Atlantic Region

Rick Isaiah, Chief Field Officer: ‘We are pleased to welcome Derrick Ellison into his new phase of leadership with FCA

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), a ministry focused on leading every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church, is pleased to welcome Derrick Ellison as the ministry’s new Regional Vice President for the Mid-Atlantic Region.

We are pleased to welcome Derrick Ellison into his new phase of leadership with FCA,” said Chief Field Officer Rick Isaiah. “His preparation for this role can only be attributed to the Lord and Derrick’s enthusiasm for sharing the Gospel, along with his experience as a student-athlete, equips him to help guide and grow the ministry of FCA.”

Ellison has served full-time with FCA since September 2013. He began his time serving as an Area Representative in his hometown of Loudoun County, VA, and later became an Area Director, Multi Area Director of Northern VA and Washington DC, and the State Director of VA. Ellison is excited to continue to serve by seeking the Lord’s direction for the spiritual development and leadership of the region.

“I am deeply honored to serve as the Regional Vice President of the Mid-Atlantic Region,” shared Ellison. “I’m humbled to step into this role, serving alongside this amazing team and to invest in their ministries and spiritual development. I’m thrilled to see the many ways that the Lord will continue to advance the Gospel through the faithfulness of our region as we strive to reach every coach and every athlete with the Gospel.”

Ellison graduated from Longwood College with a degree in Business Administration. While at Longwood, he pitched for the Lancers baseball team; after graduation, he was blessed to play professionally from 2001 to 2010. During his 10-year career, he pitched for four MLB teams: Seattle Mariners, Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers and New York Mets. He was a part of three professional championships and was a two-time All-Star during his playing career, in which he reached AAA. During his time in the minor leagues, Ellison was discipled by a coach who had a profound impact on his life and spiritual walk. This fostered a passion to reach every coach and athlete with the Good News of the Gospel.

Currently residing in Winchester, VA, Ellison and his wife, Robin, have been married since 2005 and are the proud parents of three children.
