Save the Storks celebrates motherhood with ‘Let Life Happen’ support for moms nationwide
From mobile medical clinics to a nationwide pregnancy health clinic network and digital resources, mothers gain access to care, resources and a path forward
PLANO, Texas — Save the Storks, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a story of hope and empowerment for every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy, celebrates motherhood and the many ways women experience God’s call to take care of His children by providing compassionate care, accurate information and practical support.
The organization is encouraging Americans to reflect on the unique journeys that lead women to become mothers, whether through birth, adoption, fostering, stepparenting or mentorship, and how they “Let Life Happen” — Save the Storks theme for 2026.
“Throughout 2026, this message, ‘Let Life Happen,’ will anchor our work, reminding the nation that every woman deserves real support, real care and real options so life can unfold in all the ways God intended,” said Diane Ferraro, CEO of Save the Storks. “Motherhood is one of the most meaningful callings a woman can experience, and it comes in many forms.”
Ferraro shared her own story of longing for motherhood and ultimately embracing a broader understanding of what it means to nurture and care for others.
“Like most little girls, I imagined I’d be a mom when I grew up… I just knew that being a mom was what I was called to do,” she said.
Her journey includes being adopted and becoming a stepmother, adoptive mother through Olive Crest, a foster family ministry based in Santa Ana, California, and a mentor to many young women. Ferraro said those experiences have shaped her understanding of motherhood as both a personal and spiritual calling.
“My adopted daughter is in her twenties, and will soon be a mother herself. I celebrate motherhood by reflecting on the many blessings I have… a relationship with my birth mother, foster children God trusted me with for a season; an adopted teenager who needed an advocate to keep her safe; adult stepdaughters God blessed me with after so much loss; goddaughters God gave me; nieces who God granted with creativity and tenacity… so many amazing young women I’ve been able to mentor over the years,” Ferraro shared.
Save the Storks works to support women by providing access to resources, including mobile medical clinics that offer services such as ultrasounds and connections to local support networks. Save the Storks also has a national partner program that connects pregnancy health clinics across the country, as well as a digital platform that provides women with always-on access to care, resources and real options.
Ferraro recently highlighted the impact of these services in her remarks at the Colorado March for Life, where she shared the story of a young woman who changed her mind after taking the abortion pill.
“It was about a year ago… when I received a phone call I’ll never forget,” the CEO recalled. “A young woman was driving back from Colorado. She had driven to our state for the chemical abortion. She changed her mind and didn’t know what to do, and we quickly went into action.”
Ferraro said the organization connected the woman with Abortion Pill Reversal Network and a local pregnancy health clinic, along with additional care: “She called me to say that her baby survived. She delivered her beautiful baby girl in October.”
The story, Ferraro said, reflects the broader mission of Save the Storks to offer practical help and encouragement to mothers in all their forms. In light of the recent U.S. Supreme Court order to temporarily allow access to the abortion pill through pharmacies and mail delivery without an in-person doctor visit, she said the organization remains focused on ensuring women also know about and can access life-affirming care and support.
Ferraro said, “We want every woman to know she is seen, valued and supported, no matter her path to motherhood.”
Save the Storks exists to ensure that no woman facing an unplanned pregnancy ever feels alone. Save the Storks is a national nonprofit dedicated to empowering women with compassionate care, accurate information, and practical support so they can make informed, life-affirming decisions. Through partnerships with pregnancy health clinics, a growing network of mobile medical clinics delivering women’s healthcare directly to communities in need, and a digital platform providing always-on access to real care and real options, Save the Storks creates a story of hope for women and families across the nation.
