Every single Democrat votes to expand access to abortion pill
AFA Action: ‘Americans should reject any policy that makes it easier to abuse women, destroy innocent life and avoid accountability’
TUPELO, Miss. — Forty-seven Democratic senators and 212 House members — the entire congressional Democratic caucus — filed an amicus brief asking the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals to retain the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) existing regulations for prescribing the abortion pill mifepristone. This current policy was instated by the Biden administration’s belief that the agency’s restrictions for accessing abortion drugs would create difficulties for expectant mothers seeking to terminate their pregnancies. The brief was filed in an existing Louisiana lawsuit, which challenged a 2023 FDA rule permitting access to mifepristone through telehealth prescriptions and pharmacy and mail-order distributions.
As the CEO of AFA Action, the governmental affairs affiliate of the American Family Association, Walker Wildmon is urging Americans to dismiss policies that undermine the value of human life.
“The abortion industry’s obsession with unrestricted access has blinded too many lawmakers to the real victims of these policies,” said Wildmon. “Mail-order abortion drugs have become a tool for coercion, allowing abusive men to end the lives of unborn children while exploiting vulnerable women. Yet every Democrat in Congress is asking the courts to keep that system in place. Americans should reject any policy that makes it easier to abuse women, destroy innocent life and avoid accountability.”
