‘House of David’ success signals a new era for faith-based entertainment

Apex Media Partners’ CEO Carrie Hartunian: ‘For ministries and faith-based media organizations, the opportunity is significant: audiences are there, and the pathways to reach them have never been greater’

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Wonder Project and Amazon MGM Studios’ “House of David” has officially been confirmed for a third season, according to a Deadline report. The show’s first seasondrew 40 million viewers on Prime Video worldwide. Season two of “House of David” made headlines for its widespread use of AI in visual effects sequences; it premiered on the Wonder Project subscription add-on in November, with a general release on Prime Video in late March.

Series creators and executive producers Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn said, “Whether audiences have known David through Scripture or are encountering him from a fresh perspective, we hope the series continues to reveal why his story has resonated across generations.”

Carrie Hartunian, CEO of Apex Media Partners, LLC, an organization transforming the broadcasting landscape with innovative solutions and strategic partnerships, says the success of “House of David” is a reflection of the growing need for biblically-based content.

“Forty million viewers sends a message that extends well beyond the success of one series,” said Hartunian. “Clearly, there is an audience hungry for compelling, high-quality entertainment that reflects faith and timeless biblical stories. I’m happy to see that major platforms are increasingly recognizing its value. ‘House of David’ shows what can happen when excellent storytelling, meaningful content and broad distribution come together. For ministries and faith-based media organizations, the opportunity is significant: audiences are there, and the pathways to reach them have never been greater.”
