Gen Z rise in entrepreneurship ‘is one of the most encouraging signs for America’s future’

‘Financial Issues’ host Mark Minnella: ‘Young Americans are strengthening the very foundation of a free and prosperous economy’

PHILADELPHIA — According to new research from the Bank of America Institute, Gen Z is contributing “disproportionately” to the uptick in entrepreneurship. In a progression that reveals how the younger generation is contributing to economic growth, the number of new business applications filed by Gen Zers increased to 66% in June, compared with the prior year. This rise in business startups is not limited to those who graduated from colleges or universities, as lower-income households now account for one-fourth of all new businesses starting operations. A Yahoo Finance article notes that “Experts attribute part of the surge in Gen Z founders to the advent of artificial intelligence, which is helping young people get their businesses off the ground by automating basic tasks and reducing startup costs.”

Whether it is the emergence of AI or the entrepreneurial spirit of America, Financial Issues” (FISM) host Mark Minnella highlights this rise in Gen Z founders as something worth celebrating, generating a positive outlook for the nation’s future.

“This surge in entrepreneurship is one of the most encouraging signs for America’s future,” said Minnella. “When young Americans choose to create businesses, solve problems and take responsibility for their own opportunities, they are strengthening the very foundation of a free and prosperous economy. Even more encouraging is that entrepreneurship is expanding beyond the traditionally wealthy and well-connected, giving more Americans an opportunity to turn ideas and hard work into ownership and independence.

“America has always been strongest when government gets out of the way, and ordinary people are free to innovate, build, hire and create. If this generation embraces entrepreneurship not simply as a path to wealth, but as an opportunity to serve others, create jobs and steward their talents well, that is something worth celebrating.”

Financial Issues’ (FISM) unique programming helps Christians find freedom and purpose in financial stewardship, empowering them to make biblically faithful choices in a world filled with competing voices. By tuning in, viewers and listeners will discover how to navigate their financial journey with clarity, integrity and a Kingdom-minded perspective.

Mark Minnella is the host of “Financial Issues,” which is broadcast live Monday through Friday at 9 – 10 a.m. ET/8 – 9 a.m. CT, on more than 500 television and radio outlets nationwide, streaming on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter) and other major platforms, as well as online at FinancialIssues.org.
