Abortion on the ballot in 2026 midterms: Pro-life Americans must show up and vote
CEO Walker Wildmon: ‘Voters in Virginia, Nevada and Idaho are being asked to enshrine the taking of innocent life as a constitutional right, and they should reject these measures’
TUPELO, Miss. — With less than one month away from the 2026 midterm elections, voters across the nation are preparing to exercise the 15th Amendment. For Christian voters, many will be prompted to answer an abortion-related question on the ballot in Virginia, Nevada, Idaho and Missouri during the upcoming midterm elections. According to Newsweek, “Three of the measures are looking to protect abortion rights, whereas the fourth is looking to repeal a constitutional amendment passed in 2024 and ban abortion unless medically necessary.” Since the Supreme Court’s overturn of Roe v. Wade, these measures are the most recent to present the issue to voters; more than 12 states have raised the issue to voters since the Dobbs decision.
As Christian voters head to the ballot box this November, Walker Wildmon, CEO of AFA Action, the governmental affairs affiliate of the American Family Association, urges them to defend their faith and protect the sanctity of life.
“Four years after Dobbs, the abortion industry and its allies are still pouring into state ballot campaigns to write abortion on demand into state constitutions,” said Wildmon. “Voters in Virginia, Nevada and Idaho are being asked to enshrine the taking of innocent life as a constitutional right, and they should reject these measures. These amendments are often written in vague, sweeping language that strips away commonsense protections like parental authority and basic health and safety standards. Missouri voters have a rare opportunity to correct a mistake and restore protections for the unborn. Every child is created in the image of God and deserves the chance to be born. This November, voters in these four states hold the power to defend life, and we urge every pro-life American to show up and vote accordingly. That is why iVoterGuide, a division of AFA Action, is providing clarity to voters, covering not just these abortion measures but dozens more, equipping Christians to vote wisely and be good stewards of their citizenship.”
