6,800 arrests in France should be a wake-up call for America’s parents

USPIE: ‘Left-wing actors and street radicals are using education systems across the West to foment a far-left political revolution’

COLUMBIA, S.C. — France has been convulsed with riots, as a protest by teenagers over the condition of government schools quickly grew increasingly violent.

The out-of-control students have been joined in the streets by teachers’ union members, the Socialist Party, a hard-left labor federation and followers of left-wing politician Jean-Luc Mélenchon.

At least 215 teenagers, 85 school staff and 715 police officers and gendarmes have been injured, with police making more than 6,800 arrests.

Two dozen educational buildings have been burned or ransacked, and more than 500 schools have been disrupted.

“If Americans think we are immune to this kind of violence, think again,” said Sheri Few, founder and president of United States Parents Involved in Education (USPIE). “Left-wing actors and street radicals are using education systems across the West to foment a far-left political revolution. The story unfolding in France should be a wake-up call to American parents.

“Government schools are failing to teach the majority of American kids what they need to succeed in life,” Few said. “Many are realizing it and are not happy. But schools today are effectively teaching kids one thing — discontentment leading to protests.

“School walkouts across the nation have increased from 28 in 2023 to 402 so far in 2026, according to Defending Education. What’s more, America’s two largest teachers’ unions, the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers, are run by Marxist women who back every leftist cause under the sun.

“The riots in France started over school troubles and have escalated in size and violence,” Few continued. “Get your kids out of these ticking time bombs!”

To hear more from USPIE’s Founder and President, Sheri Few, tune in to the latest episode of USPIE’s podcast, “Unmasking Government Schools with Sheri Few,” on Tuesday, October 20, where Few is joined by Julie Lavender Le Doux, award-winning children’s book author, creator of “The Amazings Series,” author of “Wounds to Wonder,” and host of the nationally syndicated DreamFarm Radio. On this episode, Julie talks about what inspired her to write “The Amazings Series,” and shares her thoughts on the spiritual battle for the minds of today’s children and how early Americans achieved such high levels of literacy and self‑education without centralized schools. USPIE’s “Unmasking Government Schools with Sheri Few” is a weekly podcast that exposes the dangers of education shaped by government bureaucrats and social engineers, while exploring practical ways to protect children and preserve America’s freedom. United States Parents Involved in Education (USPIE) is a nonprofit, nationwide coalition that is fighting to return education to its proper local roots and restore parental authority over their children’s education by helping parents and local communities to escape federal and other national influences. It is the vision of USPIE to create a culture where parents, empowered with the authority to choose what and how their children learn, are the undisputed primary educators of their children, where local schools operate in support of families, and where education is unencumbered by federal mandates.

USPIE’s powerful documentary, “Truth & Lies in American Education,” addresses some of the most glaring issues in the American education system and helps parents experience a paradigm shift in how they think about education and the role of their local schools. The film follows Few’s daughter-in-law, April, as she seeks to learn more about the system she was planning on exposing to her own children and learns the shocking truth. “Truth & Lies in American Education” is available for streaming on SalemNOW, as well as on DVD.
