43% of young adults express positive view of Sharia law ahead of midterms

USPIE: ‘Government schools are too busy pushing woke doctrines and are failing to teach kids why America is unique, free and prosperous’

COLUMBIA, S.C. — A new survey reveals that American young people are expressing positive views toward Islamic Sharia law at higher rates than ever as the midterm elections approach in less than eight days, The Washington Stand reported.

Earlier this month, Rasmussen Reports published a survey that found a full 43% of voters aged 18-24 saying they have positive views of Sharia law. The poll also found that 27% of voters under 30 said they would support a community adopting Sharia law.

“They have no idea what they are supporting,” said Sheri Few, founder and president of United States Parents Involved in Education (USPIE). “Sharia is fundamentally incompatible with the God-given rights protected under the U.S. Constitution. But government schools are too busy pushing woke doctrines and are failing to teach kids why America is unique, free and prosperous.

“Sadly, our government education system has failed to teach our children how to read, write, do math and think critically,” Few continued. “It now appears our college-age students, who can vote, are not looking critically at a very important issue: the impact of adopting Sharia Law in the U.S. and what it would mean for our way of life.

“If you are immersed in cultural and moral relativism, it’s difficult to make important distinctions, such as between our free republic and a totalitarian ideology like Sharia that subjugates women and persecutes other religions when it achieves majority rule.”

In an Oct. 13 Washington Watch podcast, columnist and author Larry Taunton said, “Sharia does not accept… freedom of religion, assembly, press, petition, speech — none of what is in the Bill of Rights. They do not accept our view of women. They do not accept our views regarding freedom.”

There are welcome signs that Americans are starting to push back. In Texas, citizens at a 14-hour state school board meeting in April spoke against including Islam as part of any Texas social studies curriculum.

President Trump has called for a nationwide ban on Sharia law. He told political commentator Glenn Beck that he would “absolutely prohibit Sharia Law,” arguing that the United States should operate under only one legal system.

“Critiquing the impact of Sharia Law on the U.S. is not discriminating; it is discerning,” Few said. “We must all seek to engage with young people to help them understand.”

To hear more from USPIE’s Founder and President, Sheri Few, tune in to the latest episode of USPIE’s podcast, “Unmasking Government Schools with Sheri Few,” on Tuesday, October 27, where Few is joined by Laura Martin, a Colorado homeschooling advocate and candidate for the Colorado House of Representatives in District 17. On this episode, Few and Martin discuss the growing mental health crisis among young Americans, the importance of homeschooling, and what parents can do to protect their relationships with their children. USPIE’s “Unmasking Government Schools with Sheri Few” is a weekly podcast that exposes the dangers of education shaped by government bureaucrats and social engineers, while exploring practical ways to protect children and preserve America’s freedom. United States Parents Involved in Education (USPIE) is a nonprofit, nationwide coalition that is fighting to return education to its proper local roots and restore parental authority over their children’s education by helping parents and local communities to escape federal and other national influences. It is the vision of USPIE to create a culture where parents, empowered with the authority to choose what and how their children learn, are the undisputed primary educators of their children, where local schools operate in support of families, and where education is unencumbered by federal mandates.

USPIE’s powerful documentary, “Truth & Lies in American Education,” addresses some of the most glaring issues in the American education system and helps parents experience a paradigm shift in how they think about education and the role of their local schools. The film follows Few’s daughter-in-law, April, as she seeks to learn more about the system she was planning on exposing to her own children and learns the shocking truth. “Truth & Lies in American Education” is available for streaming on SalemNOW, as well as on DVD.
