Pew Research: Only 8% of Americans use AI for 2026 election information
AFA Action: ‘With Election Day less than a week away, don’t outsource your vote to a machine; take advantage of free resources, do your homework and vote your values’
TUPELO, Miss. — A new report from the Pew Research Center revealed that only one-in-ten American adults are using AI chatbots as a source for finding 2026 election-related information. For those using AI chatbots, 76% are asking for information about where candidates stand on issues, 71% are searching for the accuracy of items they have discovered elsewhere about the candidates or issues, and 65% are using AI to learn about candidates’ lives and careers. Pew also reported that “smaller shares say they are using chatbots for suggestions about how to make their vote choices (40%) or to find information on voter registration, polling places or voting by mail (40%).”
According to Walker Wildmon, CEO of AFA Action, the governmental affairs affiliate of the American Family Association, “It’s encouraging that most Americans aren’t relying on AI chatbots to decide how to vote, because these tools are only as trustworthy as the data and the people behind them. Voters deserve clear, accurate information about where candidates stand on the issues that matter most, from protecting life to defending religious liberty. That’s why we encourage every voter to use iVoterGuide to research their candidates and our Ballot Measure Guide to understand exactly what they’re voting on. With Election Day less than a week away, don’t outsource your vote to a machine; take advantage of free resources, do your homework and vote your values.”
The nation’s premier Christian voting guide, iVoterGuide, is uniquely positioned to fill the information gap voters are seeking, offering carefully researched voter guides that outline every single candidate on the ballot to ensure educated voters at the polls. iVoterGuide builds in-depth, values-based research on thousands of candidates — not just the ones on the evening news, but a growing number of school board, city council and county races that rarely get a single headline.
